We made the decision to place our 18 month old son in daycare in early April. I searched around and toured quite a few daycares in the area and read as many reviews as possible. I am very aware that any company is going to have a bad review or two so I tried so hard not to dig so deep into the bad reviews left everywhere. We decided to give Kids Care Academy a chance as our sons first daycare. I was a little skeptical at first due to the bad reviews left, but like I said, any company will have customers who may have had a bad experience for whatever reason. I now wish that I would have listened to my gut from the very beginning. First off I’d like to say that the directors here are very understanding with schedules changes/needs, and that I was very thankful for. However, our issues were within the classroom. On a few occasions from picking my son up, there were issues with the condition I picked him up in. He had poop still on him one afternoon from where someone didn’t clean him well enough during a diaper change, he came home in a pampers diaper rather than the huggies we sent in for him, and he had snot crusted on him as well as runny snot the next time. The second day he attended, he came home with a blood blister on his foot that no one could explain to me how it happened. And I completely understand, toddlers hurt themselves accidentally while they’re running around being curious. But I expect to be notified and not have to find it myself and wonder what happened. On the last day he attended, last Friday, I realized my son was being given regular cows milk when I very specifically wrote out and communicated verbally to both his teachers and the directors that my son was not to have any dairy milk, he was to only have soy milk and even offered to bring his milk in every time or to even leave some there and I was assured that they would provide it and make sure he was given the correct milk. That was the last straw with us. I can’t stop thinking “what if” my son had a worse allergy to regular milk aside from an intolerance? There would be a whole different situation and issue. I trusted KCA with my son, I trusted he’d be given the best care as they had promised. Everyone says you get what you pay for, and at $160 a week for full time and $110 for part time (2 days a week, which is what he started at.) we paid $835 for him to have attended for only 5 weeks. $835 for my son’s care to not be adequate. I feel like his care shouldn’t have had been a worry to me there. I couldn’t even access the cameras on the desktop I have at home even though I was reassured that I would be able to. I truly wish our experience with KCA would have been better. And I truly wish that my sons first daycare experience would have been better. To say I’m upset, is an understatement.

Same problems as previous reviews from other parents. My daughter was bitten several times. Broken skin, bruising. Finally had to report it to the state because NOTHING was being done. You expect and trust your child will be supervised and SAFE while you have to leave them in someone else's care. This was heartbreaking. *Edited 5/30/2018: I just saw the response from the owner. I can empathize the many reasons why a child would be inclined to bite. It still does not make it ok to have my child come home with awful, broken-skin, bites marks over a dozen times. I took pictures of the bites. I also must inform you that accident reports and pictures were not taken for each biting episode that she endured. I also kept the 3 or 4 accident slips that I was ever given. Please do not misinform the public. Also, my daughter has not had a single bite since I changed child care locations.

Kids Care Academy in New Albany is a great child care facility. I did shadowing there for a class when I attended Ivy tech and I loved what I observed. The teachers are amazing as well as the director, Sherri. Sherri was so kind and polite and was happy to let me shadow for the class I was. The children had a schedule they would stick to on a daily basis and they also had a time slot allotted where the children would brush their teeth after lunch. I also thought this was a great incentive for the kiddos to work on good hygiene away from home. I would highly recommended this facility for anyone who is in need of child care as well as anyone in need of completing shadowing for college!

Please don't be fooled by all of the positive reviews, they offer incentives for you to leave positive reviews, like a drawing for $$ off of a weeks payment, so obviously they are going to get them. Good businesses don't need to bribe people to give them great reviews online, people do it willingly! If you care about your child and their wellbeing, I am begging you to please look elsewhere for childcare.

My daughter attended for maybe two months.. She was repeatedly bitten and I was NOT told. Had multiple bruises and bite marks that were not reported to me. I was looking for different child care when the final straw came leading me to take leave from my job until I found another child care center opening when I Witnessed an employee holding a two year old boy very tightly and yelling in his face. I heard them before opening the door and entering the room then witnessed it happening after opening the door. Couldn't believe my eyes and reported it to their management immediately. NOTHING WAS DONE. EDIT: In response of owner. My daughter's head, abdomen, back, arms, wrists, and near her arm pits had bruises. They were clearly not all biting. Some were even clear hand and finger prints of adults, but I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED. I was notified once after voicing concern to management that my daughter bumped her head. This was reported the same day I complained. I failed to mention the horrible sun burn my daughter obtained while in the care of Kids Care Academy New Albany location even after I had brought sun screen from home and stressed to them she had fair skin.
