Beautiful room and nice location in the city but here is why it gets 3 instead of 5 stars. I was mislead in my booking about free breakfast it is not included and was offered no explanation as to why someone had told me that it was included when it is not. I was simply billed for it. Second, on check in the manager seemed incredibly out of it. No second key was available for us and upon arriving at our room there was no second robe, no information about room service, no welcoming materials at all. I would have spent a bunch of money on room service but they missed the boat by not having the room really prepped. It’s a beautiful place, pet friendly, generally a good find. But if I’m going to spend the money, I want what I was promised on booking and service to match the price tag. I would look elsewhere, if only to have the reliability of a larger chain.
Very nice hotel! I didn't engage with the staff too much but the times I did they seemed professional and willing to assist. The room was fantastic and I loved the decor. They have a rooftop bar, The Lady Bird, which was a very pleasant surprise. Some cons, but not deal breakers, are they only have ice machines on 2 floors and I had to use the hallway phone attached to the wall to located them. The elevators are kinda small and are slow. I don't know about parking since I ubered there, but it's DC and parking can be hell up here. Overall all great experience!
Our stay was pleasant, our front desk host was great. The room we were staying in was in the front of the building. Extremely nosey. But the hotel was nice. We had a issue with heat in the room we are guessing it was because the room faces the sun. The hotel was nice the valet parking is 55 per night. But that service works great. I had a great experience there. The following pictures are the only ones I could get.
We hosted our wedding room block at the Kimpton Banneker and our guests couldn't quit talking about how great the hotel was. From the reservations team to front desk to housekeeping, everyone was so easy to work with. The hotel staff even arranged for us to do our first look at the beautiful Lady Bird roof top bar, which gave us a chance to get amazing photos of an intimate moment. I would highly recommend Tarja and her team for anyone looking for a centrally located hotel for their wedding room block!
Love the artwork throughout and my room was great! Nice restaurant downstairs - worth getting it included in your stay if you can. However, I would recommend to the hotel that they find a better way to reduce the outside noise pollution entering in the rooms. For instance, you can change the windows to double pane and add heavy curtains.
We stayed there for a night at the end of November 2022. The hotel room is really nice, clean and spacious. The facility is beautiful from that perspective. And the location was perfect for what we wanted to do during that trip. We had issue where we felt the service from the reception during check in is not genuine to an extend that we felt duped. We reached out to the general manager, explained the situation, but didn't feel that we got a fair response. However, Mr. Dennis Hernandez, the Director of Sales and Marketing reached out. Overall, I think service could be better, but we did get to a resolution. Things to note and remember. There is amenity fee of $25 $28.74 after tax that will be added per room each night of your stay. I feel that this fee is ridiculous. There are several hotels charging this. I never like this, especially not for hotels in Washington DC areas. Also parking is going to costs about $55+tax/night. So if you drive and park at the hotel, you are looking at almost an additional $100/night with parking and amenity fees. I understand the parking costs, as other hotels around the area is also charging similar amount. But totally feels the amenity fee is unnecessary and shouldn't have existed. I was aware of the costs, so it wasn't a surprised for us. But still something to note, something that I dislike, and others should be aware off. As I mentioned, the hotel itself is beautiful and we still enjoyed our stay and probably would consider going back if it meets the need in term of location as we like to walk around once in the city.
I’m currently staying here and I truly enjoy this Hotel. The valet guys Andrew and Abdul are excellent. The customer service is top tier and these guys are very attentive. The food on the rooftop is excellent as well as the drinks at the LeSel. Definitely five stars to me.Rooms: 5/5
Great hotel with a great staff. Centrally located and a 5 minute walk from Dupont circle. The only negative I can think of is the lighting in the hotel rooms themselves. It's very very dim in the bathrooms. If they can install some more bathroom appropriate lighting instead of mood lighting this hotel would top notch.Rooms: 4/5
I had a wonderful time at the Banneker when I came to visit family. The room were very spacious and clean. The rooftop was always closed during my families entire stay. The service from the staff was very pleasant. The front desk guy Damarcis was wonderful and very accommodating, A1 customer service.Rooms: 5/5
This is a beautiful hotel. I thought this would be the case just from the outside, but the inside was even more gorgeous. Some key things I would like to highlight are; the service and sexy room vibes. The service was great. I was greeted upon entering the hotel, was able to quickly check in and received some great lunch suggestions that were located near the hotel. I was totally taken back once I entered the room. I knew I was because I even took a video of the room and sent it to my partner; I never do this. The bathroom was spacious with an elegant ambience with black finishes on the door, sink and shower. There was also a pretty descent view given I was on the 6th floor. The layout was giving loft/open concept vibes with the bed in the center of the room facing the window/view. Note: If you like tubs, my room did not have a tub standing shower only. If you need an iron and ironing board, you will need to request it from the front desk; my room only came with a steamer. Housekeeping does come each day of your stay. This was an easy location to get picked up and dropped off via Lyft or Uber. 10 out of 10 would recommend and would stay again.
