Great tasting authentic Cantonese/Hong Kong fare in a upscale environment. 10/10!!! I started with the appetizer minced chicken on lettuce. Then, I ordered the Diced Chicken with Hot Peppers & Peanuts, with added cashews and light sodium. It was made exactly as I wanted! It was lightly salted and had a pleasant spice to it without being overwhelming. I topped it all off with a Lychee Martini which I asked to be made light I'm very light weight--perfect! Sweet without the strong alcohol taste that I don't like. I also really appreciated that the music is tasteful-- instrumental and unobtrusive. The pricing was fair considering the location and amount of food. The portions are in the Chinese tradition of SHARING food with friends and family, so the portions are LARGE. Bring a friend to enjoy the food with! They also have a great lunch special menu! The owner, who personally greeted me, is an extremely sweet person, and the waiters are polite and attentive. I will definitely be coming again!!!
Great little Chinese restaurant with very nice service. Spring rolls were fresh, hot, and crunchy. The chicken pineapple with fried rice was fantastic, especially when we were given the house hot sauce. My girlfriend had the seafood mix with rice and she loved it.
I have been frequenting this restaurant for the past two months as a resident of Midtown East. If you are visiting, residing or traveling to Midtown Manhattan and looking for an inexpensive lunch or a fairly priced family-style dinner, and great Chinese food, this hits the spot, particularly after walking around Rockefeller Center and Radio City. Nice ambience, classical Chinese decorating family friendly but not noisy, the food and sauces are delicious and fresh, good service, Qingdao beer and wine very cheap, they don't rush you unlike other Chinese restaurants, and they now have a "healthy menu" for those who want that as well. The best news is that they now serve Dim Sum Happy Hour on Saturday and Sunday 11AM until 4:00PM on top of existing happy hours in 3-5PM weekdays none of the other Chinese restaurants in the area serve that so you don't have to go to Chinatown.. Highly recommended for solo, family, friends, and business.
King Jade Garden which previously was Lychee House. Do not be fooled by the change of names. This restaurant is better than what it used to be! I recently stepped in to grab lunch and I was reluctant to stay and dine in because I was informed the restaurant changed their name and owner.. usually this means a decline in quality, attentiveness of staff and change of flavors however, to my surprise, the food taste better than I remember! Not only does the food make my tastebuds dance, the portions are very large. That’s what I call a bang for my buck! The owner Jean, personally came by to check up on my table to make sure everything was perfect. I am definitely coming back here soon!
The food there is extremely good, comes in large portions, and tastes like they had magical powers it's so good. The staff there is extremely respectful, and very nice. Definitely one of the best restaurants i've ever been to.
The food is pretty good. I normally order the chicken and broccoli which is done well. Their Wonton soup is very good as well. The service is quick and economical especially if there for lunch.
This place took over for Lychee house two weeks ago. Sorry to say it does not come even close. Ordered a bunch of food, General Tso, Sesame Chicken, Dumplings.... So disappointed. Definitely not going back. Need to find a new go to place.
We love this place — we live on the UES and travel to King Jade often because we LOVE so much. The dining room is serene, the food is spectacular, the service is welcoming and efficient... this restaurant is terrific!
Very tasty and sumptuous fare. Prices are reasonable and portions are generous. Compares favorably to older and better-known establishments. Strongly recommended.
I ordered szcheuan Chicken with those peppercorns. Just received stir fried chicken with vegetables. I asked to order something else instead before touching the food they still charged me.
