Great little breakfast spot. Friendly service and delicious food. The portions were good sized and the food was fresh and cooked to perfection. The coffee was a little weak, but not bitter. The biscuits and gravy was amazing. The biscuits were homemade and so moist and buttery. The gravy was thick, creamy and full of flavor. The corn beef hash was delicious! They fried it with bell peppers and onions. They also give you a basket of tiny delicious muffins!
Amazing food. The waitress was very kind to us while we were there the entire time. She even brought us chocolate for staying there! The muffins they provide for free are exceptional. The food in general is just off the charts delicious. Recommend going for breakfast! Atmosphere is very relaxing. Parking: Tons of easy parking spots thanks to being located near a shopping center.
I have been coming to Kiss the Cook for over 25 yrs. This downtown Glendale establishment is like you are stepping into the past. The place is decorated with vintage items & the food is served on mismatched China dishes. The food's quality is top notch. They have been featured on Diner's Drive it's & Dives. Be willing to wait especially on the weekends there is always a wait list. Don't get discouraged it will be worth the wait. All the staff treat you like family. It is apparent when you see all the customers that they know by name. My go to menu item for breakfast is the Jalapeño Popper Egg Benedict . This is a new addition to the menu. Also you can never go wrong with the Pecan Cinnamon Roll. After your belly is satisfied and your falling asleep from food coma the check is delivered with Hersey kisses . Super cute it plays of the name. I highly recommend to anyone to visit this restaurant and see what all the hype is about.
Awesome food, awesome service. We went for mother's day and enjoyed breakfast on the patio. Good variety of food and hands down the best orange juice I've ever had
Great lil place to stop in for breakfast.. lots of things on the walls to look at as well as several news articles about the restaurant dating back to 1982. It's a 40 year old place but it's been taken care of and the service is top notch.. I had the breakfast burrito and she had the 2 egg breakfast and it was very good. I forgot to order a side of sausage gravy with breakfast and she had it outin less than a minute. Also the mini muffins were very moist and delicious.. my favorite was the pinneapple orange one! We will be back!
Kiss the cook has the best Biscuits and gravy! Their home made turkey Sausage is delicious. When I first arrived ruby was Extremely rude to me. She is the cash out hostess that was arguing very loudly with another waitress over a miscommunication issue. When she was done arguing with the waitress, she snapped at me. After I was directly to the correct hostess to speak with about my table seating, my dining experience was great! All of the other waitresses were super nice and polite and friendly. While I went during a busy time Everyone was still helpful and attentive. My food was amazing and would 100% like to go back and try the rest of the menu or the other specials they offer. Jennifer was great! She’s really on top of eveything and again professional and polite.
Super delicious French toast and I loved the homemade sausage turkey. My son got two eggs with the homemade sausage turkey. The food was perfect the coffee was amazing.
The cutest comfy breakfast i have been to so far in phoenix. Muffins are fresh and moist and the potatoes are cooked to perfection. Small dining room yet very clean and customer service is kind.
Good food and service. It was my first time here and it didnt disappoint. What was a bummer for me is they didnt have the steak, my favorite breakfast meal. Apparently is not the only restaurant suffering from the shortage of meat at good prices. Btw, our server Maggie was awesome, very attentive.
I really wanted to like this place as it was recommended as a “best places for breakfast near me” option, and the quirky atmosphere was nice….but the food was just ok. My Huevos Rancheros had too many peppers and onions, the bacon order was a bit undercooked and the biscuits and gravy needed more gravy. The service was great, coffee refills free, and great mini muffins. I hate to leave a “average” review, but I have to be honest. VictorB
