This was my first time playing here and to be honest I am new to the sport so I was a little nervous. I did get lost as I haven't played to many 18 hole courses yet but the staff was very nice and understanding and helped me get to where I jeered to go. The course is gorgeous and extremely well kept, it was so much fun and I had a blast. Will definitely be coming back, thank you Knolls Golf Course staff!
This course is super nice and has a great variety of challenging and easy holes to play. It has quite a few doglegs, narrow fairways, and water features which make it more fun. The carts are also super nice and a little faster than some of the other courses.
Keep in mind I’m ranking this golf course for what it is — a public, municipal golf course in a large metro. We played on Black Friday and greens were well dressed and fareways in good shape. A few neighbors could stand to keep their dogs inside or keep them quieter but otherwise this was a nice golf experience.
Great place to play. Carts are a little beat up but it is a city owned course. My 7 yo daugthers first golfing experience .
Extremely disappointed in this course. My husband, sister, her friend, and my father in law played today, and was told they were going too slow. I guess you're not allowed to be new players to the game. Spring Lake has never been so disrespectful like The Knolls, we'll stick with Spring Lake from now on. We wanted to take out my sister and her friend who wanted to try, and it ended like this. Thanks a lot!
The Knolls is a hidden gem. Several years ago it was at best a cow pasture. Over the last three or four years the course has become very worthy of play. The new superintendent knows what he is doing and does it very well. I feel some angst in writing this review because I want to keep my Tuesday morning tee time free and clear
We have our golf outing here twice a year. Bill and his staff are great to us everytime!
Set in a neighborhood. I need to play it again to get a good feel for it, but it felt a lot like Johnny Goodman with bridges. There is quite a bit of road noise on the front 9.
We had s 7:20 tee time and the course was beautiful !! I thought it was very well groomed and the staff was very helpful.
Normally, we love the Knolls. The course is in good shape and the greens are some of the best in the city. Unfortunately, today our experience was disappointing because having nobody out in front of us, walking off #9 to make the turn and going to the 10th Tee box, we found a cart with 2 golfers waiting and a 3 some on the 10th green because they sent people off the back 9 with no opening between groups that were playing 18 and making the turn. Since nobody had been on the hole in front of us, the clubhouse sent off 2 groups very shortly before we finished the 9th hole. This caused a backup for all the people who were playing 18. Not a great thing to do to the other golfers. Understandable if there is a big gap in groups and they sent out earlier, but we did not stop at the turn so were in position, which was to have nobody in front of us, so should not have had 2 groups to hold up play for the rest of us.
