We took our dog through classes with Knox when she was pretty young. She did puppy class around four months and obedience class around six months. She did great in class and Clint and his team were so supportive. The class sizes were big enough to socialize puppy class includes socialization time which was great, but small enough to feel taken care of. We were able to ask questions and implement what we were learning in real life. We know some of her siblings who didn’t do class or did it a lot later, and I really think it’s why she is so well behaved. We recently had Clint do a few in-home sessions to address some anxiety around new people in our home. The tips and suggestions we got from those sessions are already making a change in her behavior after just two weeks. Clint gave us a 15 day relaxation protocol to work on and she has been doing so well with it. We would definitely recommend Clint and his team for any help you may be needing with your dog!
Took the basic obedience class over summer 2022 for our rescue we got in May 2022. The only thing I would have done differently is not wait nearly two months to start training. This class has been a huge difference maker in helping our dog show impulse control, be able to go on long enjoyable walks and obey general commands much more effectively. Knox Academy is highly recommended by our family. I felt like we got plenty of individual attention during a group class setting and questions/concerns were always welcomed before or after class in person or through e-mail. Lot of work to do the training while in class, but the results have been very much worth the effort. We believe it is incredible value, return on investment and wouldn't hesistate to take another dog to Knox in the future.
The obedience training at Knox did wonders for our rescue pup and for us as brand-new dog owners. Clint quickly made accommodations for our dog once he noticed how anxious he was around others in the class, which was news to us, because as I said, we rescued our dog so we were are still learning about him. The environment was friendly, expectations were clear, and Clint really knows his stuff. I highly recommend for anyone seeking training for dogs young and old.
Clint has been great to work with and has done a wonderful job so far with our two dogs. We have had a few individual sessions and looking forward to more. Our pups are learning commands and behaving better than they were before we started the training. I recommend you reach out to Knox Canine Training if you are looking for the kind and knowledgeable dog trainer.
We had Michelle come to the house to help us train our new dog Badger, who is a mixed breed of three types of HIGH ENERGY dog. While we know it will take time and training that will need to continue on our own, the results have been wonderful so far. Badger is definitely calmer and better behaved. Not because we've changed him, but because Michelle taught us how to be better pet parents by giving him the mental stimulation and training he thrives on. Michelle is so good with dogs and a brilliant trainer. She really knows her stuff and we have been impressed by her and her results every single time. I would 100% recommend Knox Canine Training!
I had brought our pup to a puppy class where he started to show some aggression toward strangers. They recommended working with someone one-on-one. It was important to us that we were working with someone that used positive reinforcement and when I started asking around for recommendations, Knox Canine Training was a consistent name they came up. I brought him in for a one-on-one session with Natalie and was very happy with the experience. She took the time to understand the behaviors we were seeing and worked with him to get a better feel of what might be going on. She helped identify his threshold and provided very helpful homework to work with him. It is still a work in progress, but the whole experience gave us a better understanding of our pup! Natalie was extremely friendly, compassionate, and knowledgeable. The thing I appreciated the most was that she took the time to explain the behaviors she was observing and provided solid suggestions on how to address them. I would highly recommend Knox Canine Training and Natalie Caldwell for anyone looking to understand their pup better and work on both general and specific training!
Just finished Obedience 1 training with Michelle Hoile. Michelle’s previous school teacher experience along with her love of dog training made her well planned lessons a truly wonderful experience. I would recommend Knox Canine Training and Michelle without reservation. Ps. Tucker enjoyed the classes as well!!! Every Sunday morning on class days he would go crazy trying to get into our SUV!! I swear he knew he was going to class!!
We had Clint Knox of Knox Canine Training come to our home to give our dog personal training. It was amazing how attentive our dog was to Clint and how he obeyed his commands. Clint left us with instructions so that we could continue with training. We were so impressed with the individual session that we decided a class at the training center would be a good fit for our dog and we will start obedience classes the end of May. I highly recommend Knox Canine Training.
Took obedience 1 class with my 18month energetic rescue dog. His approach uses positive reinforcement and conditioning to help dogs happily want to follow their leaders. He did a great job explaining expectations for the class, and breaks each command down into baby steps to help leaders and dogs learn together. Clint was happy to stay after class to answer my questions and give me advice specific to my dog's need. Definitely recommenf!!!
Make sure your trainer knows giant breeds before scheduling an in-home session. We have a giant breed 7 month old, and while we booked our lesson weeks in advance of our session, we were told by the trainer about halfway through our in-home session - “I haven’t ever researched this breed.” A little bit of reading on the breeds you’re going to train would only take a few minutes, and would be helpful in knowing that not all dogs mature, grow, learn, etc. the same way, speed, etc.
