Kutztown Folk Festival

Pretty good festival with good crafts and good food. I love the Pennsylvania Dutch theme all around the festival. $14 for adults, and free for children under 12. Note that this isn't like a typical county or state fair, so you wouldn't find rides and games of the same caliber, but there are still other crafts and things to do with the kids.

This was a very interesting festival with some really talented craftsmen and craftswomen and there was a tremendous range of items (music, hand-made furniture and kitchen accessories, tremendous quilts, a huge variety of foods, country craft-types of goods, etc). There are several stages offering live music, folk dancing, and instructional talks. The food was generally good; some was not so great. The Kutztown Folk Festival is worth the time for a visit.

This place is so cook and has so much going on with lots of great history and heritage stuff as well as amazing food and vendors!

For a country fair it's a little pricey but absolutely worth checking out if you're in the area. Lots of great vendors and unique PA Dutch food offerings. We didn't see a few of the better craft vendors this year, but it was still worth the trip.

I'll start with the positives . Everyone dresses in Pennsylvania Dutch attire and signs are written in Pennsylvania Dutch which is a nice touch. Dessert options are pretty nice. There are a ton of handmade items to purchase in all kinds of categories . There is a small petting zoo for kids and a kids stage that plays awesome puppet shows for them. The bathrooms are very very well kept for a festival . However, the price for entrance is very expensive considering the only thing you don't have to pay for once inside is a petting zoo, and children's shows on the stage . The food is very expensive. Its 5 for a large lemonade , 20 for an individual food platter at the main kitchen and I purchased a flowering onion for 8. There are small games that are all 5 dollars or more. Parking is free but lines get pretty long on waiting to enter with your car. There is a family that sells water for a dollar and allows parking on their yard for two dollars . Overall it was nice . Alot of cool things to look at . I am just going once though because the 14 dollar entrance fee between me and our family racks up.
