Kwong village has gone completely down hill. Shrimp fried had no egg or vegetables like it use to. The sweet and sour sauce is like jello and nasty like it came pretty packaged. The food has no flavor period. Will not be returning
The food was wonderful! Definitely will be coming back. The sweet and sour chicken I ordered were delicious and so was the crab ragooon.Food: 5/5
Been ordering take out from here for over 30 years. I like the food. Only draw back is the location.Food: 5/5
Haven't been in over 10years reside in Dearborn now worth the drive food hasn't changed worth it! Egg roll was my only complaint wasn't the freshest
Great food. The egg Rolls Were the best. Last I bought tasted old.. But hopefully it was just that day... Also, the place needs an upgrade for sure. Make customers want to go inn and know the food is as great as the cleanliness.
Its just to pick up but food and service is good too Good place to get something good in the neighborhoodFood: 5/5
Tasteless maybe frozen didn’t even smell food being made when I walked in I live 7 minutes away but some how my food wasn’t too hot which is weird then she had the nerve to charge me for chili oil …I took a couple bites and called it a day too many red flags AND my stomach hurt now
Flavor was a total failure. I’m not sure what recipe y’all are using but that’s NOT sesame chicken or sweet & sour chicken. The sauce was thicker like a gel & not how either dish is supposed to taste. They ONLY have shrimp egg rolls. Which were disgusting “spat it out” the rice had three shrimps on top. Typically shrimp fried rice either is chopped or has the mini shrimp throughout and was disgusting . I ordered the beef fried rice for myself it was also disgusting. The rice tasted like the way the restaurant smelled!! Kinda like stagnant water! crab rangoon was also weird and not good kinda dry. I’m not sure what they used for beef but it was WEIRD. Over all it was horrible and disgusting. I wasted 32 bucks for dinner I’m not sure who’s leaving all those good reviews but definitely sus. Or they have never had proper Chinese food… cash only btw. I definitely was hoping to find a gem like I’m not sure how they’ve been in business 30 some years…
My previous review is below from a long time ago. I've been coming to Kwong Village since 2001. It has been the *BEST* spot for Chinese in Metro Detroit. I ordered food on NYE a few weeks ago and something drastically changed...my heart broke. There is another review or two below that describe the sweet and sour sauce as a gelatinous goop and sadly, that's right. It used to be a rich, sweet sauce that tasted like a thicker duck sauce. But it's really a gross gel now. Ugh. And the almond chicken! My go to! Was the only place I've been able to find almond chicken with the yellow sauce and not the brown gravy everyone else serves. This time it wasn't yellow. It was, idk, a pale tan. Like the color of a curly 90s telephone cord. And the consistency was pudding. Several years ago they did away with the salad shrimp for fried rice, which was fine. And they changed the general tso chicken, which was a major bummer. But this time I was so sad about the food we ordered. You get so much for paying so little! The best dishes are almond and general tso chicken, chicken lo mein, and jumbo fried shrimp. But really everything is delicious!
Great food and services! Inlove with the rice:
