The entire experience at La Goulue New York was simply delightful. The service was top-notch, with a friendly and attentive staff catering to our every need. The food was absolutely delicious, leaving us thoroughly satisfied. Despite the flawless service and mouthwatering cuisine, we encountered a minor hiccup with a slight delay in receiving our receipt, coupled with an initial mix-up with the bill. However, these small issues did not detract from the overall excellence of our experience. To sum it up, La Goulue New York exceeded our expectations with its delicious dishes, cozy atmosphere, and outstanding service. We eagerly anticipate returning for another memorable dining experience.
La Goulue never disappoints. Packed on a Thursday night. We ordered the Suckling Pig, Steak Au Poivre, and Ile flottante for dessert. 10/10 meal with great wine. Worth the cost.Food: 5/5
While I'm not a huge fan of French Bistro style restaurants, LA Goulue knocks it out of the park in regards to that department. The whole lunch experience today from the food to the service was fantastic! The restaurant was packed, and I see why, I thought the menu options were great. This establishment even serves sushi, and it was, surprisingly, really good. We will definitely be back!
Excellent service and delicious traditional French cuisine. It gives the feeling of being in Paris. The onion soup is the best in New York. The steak au poivre is tender and the sauce…ask for extra bread. The wine selection is very well put together and offers many different options for different occasions. In short, my wife and I will come back soon. Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access on the ground floor.
Delicious lunch. Stopped after a walk in the park. Had a perfect Chicken Paillard and the couldn’t resist the Profiterole. YumFood: 5/5
We went to La Goulue to celebrate our wedding anniversary. It has been on our list for a while and we finally decided to try it. The interior is cozy and charming, we loved it. The service was impeccable, our waiter suggested a Bourgogne that went with fish as well as meat. Great recommendation! The food was incredible too, we started with the escargots, then I had the special of the night which was a perfectly prepared seared tuna, and my husband ordered the scallops. Finally, we had the souffle for dessert which I highly recommend! Overall, a great experience, we will be back! One down side, the table next to us was rude and not only squashed into the booth encroaching on our space and crushing my bag, but then when I expressed annoyance, they complained about us for the rest of the dinner. This is nothing against the restaurant though! Just something to note.
Absolutely delicious with impeccable service. Had steak, salads, risotto. Delicious. Ask for extra sauce with your steak for French fry dipping instead of ketchup! I wouldn’t get the fruit tart again it wasn’t great but everything else we ordered was plate licking good.Recommended dishesProfiteroles
I have not had such a good brunch in a very long time. Glad to see this place be back. The staff was wonderful. Our waiter a total French delight & the Manager, Greg, extremely charming. From the white suggestion all the way to dessert, it was truly a wonderful 2 hrs. My NY strip steak was perfect. Temperature, texture, flavor & cooked to perfection. Same goes to the French fries. Definitely will be coming back for dinner & highly recommend it. Great atmosphere, decor & almost felt as if you were not in NY...
Nice place. We didn’t plan coming here, it just happened, but the service was good. My avocado toast with salmon was really good, my husband got eggs Benedict, one was perfectly cooked, the other one was cooked all the way through, we addressed it to our waitress and they fixed it pretty quick by bringing us another one. The food is pricey, yes. But overall it was a good experience.
Came in for Easter brunch as this place was on several listicles specifically for that I didn’t know Easter brunch was a thing that people did, admittedly, so I was very surprised at how busy it was. Not sure if it was bc of the holiday or if it was just the natural vibe but it felt a little stuffy, ha. Definitely more business meeting vibes than weekend brunch vibes. Service was quick/efficient though the staff was a bit cold and standoffish. The food was incredible. We were able to chose between a few items off the prix fie menu. I went with the avocado tartine and the salmon. The flavors were incredible. Portions are on the smaller side, but wow. Who knew a dish so simple could be so explosive. The flavors were strong and umami, and the brunch cocktail was a great addition/pairing. For dessert we got the apple tart it was okay and the macarons very tasty and an espresso each very good! I’m very curious about their regular menu and would definitely return should I find myself in the area.
