I have always seen this place on "Magnum P.I" and "Hawaii five-0" looks a lot like it does on TV, but the food could be better and there weren't many options to choose from. Nachos were delicious! There is parking, but the atmosphere is not for families.Food: 4/5
Great location right on the water. Perfect location to see the sunset. Indoor and outdoor seating. The waterfall table is pretty awesome for large groups. I went everyday for lunch, the burgers hit the spot and so did the fish and chips Kid-friendliness: Staff was very welcoming and has good kid friendly food options Wheelchair accessibility: It's easy to get to and lots of street and lot parking
Atmosphere and food are two different subjects. Super cool atmosphere. Very classic Tiki feel and the service is great. Super friendly help. The food is good but not amazing. We got the cheeseburger with fries. The burger had solid taste and flavor but not incredible. Fries were nicely crispy without being over cooked. We also had the Mahi Mahi and side of mushrooms. Mahi was very fresh, melt in your mouth and garlic-y. Mushrooms also garlic-y but we're not complaining because we love garlic. It's fairly priced. The menu is A LOT smaller than it used to be. The staff said it's a staffing issue as to why they can't offer more just yet so perhaps later in 2023 there will be more available. Portions are on the smaller size but everything is fresh and seasoned well. We really enjoyed our time here and, in our opinion, is a must visit Parking: Parking available
On this visit for lunch the food was good service was just okay. They're clearly understaffed with a super abbreviated menu, but it looks like they're trying to make a go of it and recover from the pandemic. I will go back again in the future and hope they can improve on their menu selection and better staff their restaurant.
I feel like this place has changed ALOT since the pandemic. And sadly not for the better. The menu use to be much larger and more bang for your buck in regards to yummy food. Now the menu is much smaller and the food is nothing to write home about. $20 for garlic shrimp, plain rice and simple salad. The servers are all lovely and kind though. Too bad-this use to be the go to spot anytime I flew in.
My husband and I were so happy to be able to return to La Mariana after a couple long years of it being closed. We were happy to see a favorite bartender still there, and the drinks were great. We liked most of the renovations they ruined the women’s bathroom, though. We didn’t expect too much from the food because we know they don’t have their full kitchen staff back yet. However, the food was really disappointing and not a good value. We’ll probably hold off going back until things improve a lot.
This Tiki bar/restaurant is retro and fun. Our entrees, fish tacos and grilled Ahi tuna, were delicious. The price for food and drinks were incredibly reasonable compared to the area. The service was slow which we anticipated based on reviews but we just enjoyed the scenery while waiting. Our waitress was very friendly. We are so glad we included this spot during our visit to Oahu!
One of the last original tiki bars in Oahu and one of the best Mai Tai's you'll find. We will definitely be returning here on our next visit too Oahu. The food and service was excellent along with their delicious Mai Tai's.Food: 5/5
This place has roots deep in the past especially in Honolulu’s history and has been instrumental in defining Tiki culture. It was closed for a looong time during Covid and I was worried it might not open again. Today when I landed at the airport 8 mins away I was delighted to see OPEN on google maps. The taxi demurred of course, as it is a short fare, but I insisted and so happy I did. Incredibly, the place has been spruced up but all the charm and character remains. The Mai Tai is as good as ever.
This place was way cool it's the only tiki bar on the island, so we had to try it, a friend of ours told us about it so we had to try it out! Great place for a sunset!
