We arrived at this la Quinta thinking it would be just like the rest we’ve stayed in. But we were really wrong. First room we got smelled like it was being used by a homeless person every night. Urine in the toilet, torn up carpet and furniture. Asked for another room, seemed much cleaner until we went to get in bed. The bed was covered in long black hair. All over the pillow cases and blankets. The front desk lady was very nice in refunding our money so we are at the hotel right next door. Much cleaner. Don’t waste your money staying at this la Quinta.
I booked here because of the pool... the pool is closed.!! Front desk clerk lacked explanation, concern and enthusiasm for job.. Room looks acceptable at a glance. Carpet at door is torn away, like an animal was trying to get out. The wall paper in bathroom poorly hung and trimmed. The bed was neatly made and there was a readiness note from Yulissa. Nice touch : Decent size room too.
My family member stayed there 8/9-10, and several cars were vandalized, and some had catalytic converters stolen. The owner was very nonchalant about it. He said that he tells people to park there at their own risk even though it is supposed to have on-site security. While it is nice to have pet friendly rooms, the entire hotel must be pet friendly and the rooms smell like dog or cat urine. I personally would not bring my pet in there for fear it would end up sick During the confusion over the vandalized vehicles the only person that acted like she had any idea of what her job was was Sharon the desk clerk. Clearly she had a better understanding of the needs of the people than that owner.
Hotel was clean but, in dire need of work due to apparent signs of mold/water damage in the bathroom area of room. Carpet was gross and ripped but, did appear vacuumed. It was just old and outdated overall and in dire need of renovations which appeared to be happening slowly starting with the main lobby and hallway. Upon arriving to check in we were told our reservation had been canceled due to over booking because of a military event in the area. We were there for our daughter's graduation from basic training @ Ft. Jackson We reserved in advance and paid in full. They were able to accommodate us with a handicap room after I went off for obvious reasons. Pool was also closed for maintenance. I would have stayed elsewhere had we had the option but, everything in town was booked. Worst hotel experience I've ever had and I have traveled a lot!
The Hotel is filthy besides the updates that have been made in the eating and lounging area. I didn’t use the rags and towels to bathe but as I was just drying my hand on a rag in my room I saw dried patches of feces on it. The bed had hair in it and the towels and rags are not clean. The floors are ripping apart and the room air systems are dust pact. The furniture and light lamps are old dusty, rusted, and out dated. Nothing about this hotel is appealing and the only amenities are breakfast, coffee, and Wi-Fi . The shower head is rusted and the shower curtains look filthy as well if you stay here I suggest you bring your own blankets and wash towels and clothes. Some of their front desk attendants are also rude and combative.
When I booked the hotel I was told the pool would be working. I got there and was informed that it has been out of service for quite some time due to a bad pump, and they had no idea when it would be fixed. The guest rooms are vastly different when compared to the lobby. They have done a full remodel of the lobby and it looks great. The rooms however do not.
I only gave this hotel a 4 star because it is a little "tired" and worn. However, the front desk guy was outstanding. We stayed there the night of Dec 29th, and he was the night shift clerk. Friendly, helpful and courteous. He was 5 star. Wish I remembered his name
I would put 0 stars but unfortunately it will not let me. Terrible customer service, the employees were extremely rude. I will never stay again. I am a smoker but I only smoked outside. Early this morning an employee banged on my door screaming at us telling us to get out of her hotel and if we didn't she was going to call the cops. She believed because I smoked I smoked in the room. And is now trying to charge us for smoking in the room. I did not. Will never stay here again.
The rooms are in bad need of a remodel, tub faucet about to fall apart, cracked porcelain lid on toilet, black mold around door frame. Personnel are friendly.Rooms: 2/5
