La Traviata on the Upper West Side serves up one of the best slices of pizza that you will ever have. Our favorite is their margarita style pizza We found this place by total accident as the establishment looks like, and is, a hole in the wall as you walk by it. Make no mistake, though. The pizza here is out of this world. We have ordered take-out from La Traviata many dozens of times over the years. Between Patsy's up the street, and here, you have two homeruns as far as amazing pizzas go on the UWS and in all of NYC, for that matter.
Preordered 2 pizzas with a scheduled delivery time of 7pm through the restaurant’s website. Our order delivered almost 2 hours late and neither of the pizzas had any of the toppings we had ordered one was supposed to be pepperoni and the other pepperoni and sausage but both came with just cheese. Including tip, I spent $96 for this.
Fantastic little hole in the wall, fast and friendly service, great outdoor seating too. Definitely not a "touristy" spot, and the best pizza I had on my trip.Food: 5/5
Best NYC pizza period. I’ve tried many a regular slice all over this country and from my experience this is the gold standard. Not too much cheese, sauce is a little sweet, crust is thin, bottom of the crust is crisp. And the consistency is excellent. You can get a tourist slice of pizza for a dollar at Times Square, and if that’s what you want good for you. But this is a real NYC pizzeria.
Absolutely delicious slices, and the workers were nice. I sat in the outside area which was really clean and well kept.
the best slice on the Upper West Side. Consistently delicious and easy. Really nice folks operate the place and though the interior seating is far from glamorous, it's always a trip to eat the pizza there and watch Mexican football while checking out the local characters.Food: 5/5
When people talk about NYC having the best pizza, this is the spot they're talking about. This place is the textbook definition of a hole in a wall secret. A place that more people should know about. I haven't had pizza like that since I was a kid.Food: 5/5
Decent but very plain spaghetti which is what I was looking for. I've ordered pasta and pizza here several times over the last few years and while they are always polite, the woman behind the counter always seems a little stressed that I'm ordering pasta. Just make the pasta and act like it's not a big deal because it's not! Not a big deal for me, I will continue to order there.
