I’ve been in technology my entire life; I worked from the bottom all the way up, and I used to hire contractors. I’ve had those firms that shove resumes across my desk, and I can tell they don’t even really know the people they’re sending to me. And then there’s LABUR. The level of care and attention I’ve received from everyone at LABUR is genuine, and personalized. I highly recommend them, as a hiring manager and as a senior-level IT consultant. As an IT consultant and former hiring manager, the most important part of the project is the follow-up. I’ve been in a position overseeing projects that have reached critical stages where consultants fall off, and what’s worse is when the companies they work for don’t even know it. The opposite is true for LABUR; I have planned weekly check-ins with Ken to make sure the project is going well, that the company’s goals are being met, and that my career goals are also being fulfilled. It’s changed the way I work with consultants. Ken has proven to be one of the few specialized recruiters who knows how it needs to be done. He, and LABUR, are not pushing people, they’re making real connections and I wish the world had more people who understand that. It’s not about checking boxes. Everyone at LABUR should feel very proud.
The leadership, not only from Seth and Darrin, but to Ryan Sylvia and associates running their own projects, is really great; people know what has to be done and do their very best to do it better than what is expected. It's a fun atmosphere but not so much that it gets in the way of getting work done. Everyone is passionate about their work, and what LABUR is doing with organizations like Home Base is very inspiring. There’s a personal touch here and the culture is very cool. I would encourage anyone interested in a relationship – whether clients needing high-end IT consultants and project support, consultants themselves, or people looking for a great co-op opportunity – to strongly consider LABUR.
In my experience, most recruiters are just scanning resumes and searching for keywords. They contact you not really understanding the opportunity in it. LABUR was much more thorough. They looked into the work I had actually done. They did their homework on me and it showed in the first conversation. LABUR has documented processes and an agenda to make consulting for them a seamless transition. When I started working for them as a consulting Salesforce Business Analyst, I knew about the projects before I got started, communication styles and preferences of the team, and the company cultures of where I would be working. I knew everything I needed to be successful, and I was able to start being productive very quickly – which is good for everyone.
I worked for a large retail corporation for over 20 years. After my role as a Senior Project Manager/Change Management professional was eliminated, it was extremely daunting to start a job search from scratch – I’d never done it before – and that’s when I started exploring consulting. Out of all of the consulting companies I spoke with, LABUR was the only one that followed up and held themselves accountable to what they said they were going to do for me. Fast forward nearly two years and I am on a project with the same great medical devices company I first started with and I’m still really enjoying it. Coming from a large corporation, it was really nice to know that I had someone else to check in with, especially with it being my first time consulting. I feel like I have support on both ends – from the client company and from LABUR – which is important to those of us on this side of the business. LABUR has solid relationships with senior leaders and it positioned me for success here. I am so grateful for my regular communication with them, specifically with Ken, and in LABUR I feel like I have a huge advocate.
A business by itself is nothing if it’s not represented well by its employees. Everyone at LABUR – Ryan, Dessa, the whole team – take the time to really make sure you’re taken care of. It’s why I refer people to them. I’ve never been a number, or just next on a list. It’s a relationship !
I have been working with Logan from Labur. He has been such a great help and always very friendly too!
