Lake Michigan Cottages

Wouldn’t rent to me because I wasn’t renting for a “family” find it a bit ridiculous that I couldn’t rent a cottage for a group of adult woman to stay at for a relaxing weekend.

The company and workers are very professional. We had stayed with them in the past, but this time I was coming up with a group of friends to go fishing -- which their policy does not cover. However, if you call them, some exceptions could be made. Now, I was not aware of this and ran into some snags. But they were polite, professional, courteous, and made the process as painless as possible. If my family and I came up to Michigan, I would definitely stay with them again. But just be sure, they do not allow "non-family under 25" to be present. Have a safe trip all!

We stayed at the Wilderness Tree House in Grand Haven, MI. The house smelled musty, and of mildew. The furniture smelled like it was sitting in a musty garage for a long time and then moved into the house. We bought air fresheners and burned incense and candles and opened windows to try to get the smell out, but nothing worked. The water tasted and smelled of rust. We could not drink it or cook with it. We bought bottled water instead. After taking a shower you would smell of rust instead of soap. The kitchen housewares(pots & pans, plates, etc.) were well worn and some should have been thrown out. We do not recommend this property to anyone.
