Five stars. Got tires mounted, balanced and aligned on short notice and got the car back the same day. Melvin went out of his way to help and did a great job. Lakeview Tire & Auto is a refreshing change from other shops that act as if they don't want your business. I will definitely be back should my car need other work in the future.
Thank you to the mechanic who when out of his way to help my wife this afternoon, 1/11/24, with her flat tire. I know you were on your way home, but you made sure she got home to Slidell. I was traveling through the area when I got a leak in one of my tires. I was 45 minutes from home and this was the closest place I could get to help. I am so grateful this shop is where I ended up. I didn't get the guys name who helped me, but it was definitely the manager or owner. They looked very busy, but took the time to help me and make sure I would make it home safe and even explained to me what they were doing. They definitely were my heroes today! I appreciate you guys. Thanks for getting me home safe!

I didn't get my car serviced here due to time restraint but off of one phone call, I knew with a certainty they can be trusted. I was traveling through NOLA for a long distance move when I urgently needed to get my car checked. The gentlemen I spoke with presumably the owner was completely transparent with the shop's workload and when he would be able to squeeze me in. Finally he referred to Mister Roger at Chevron whom he trusted for my type of car issue and that man was just as friendly and helpful. God bless!
First, my husband's family was in the car business owning car dealership so we have a pretty good sense of car issues, the industry rates and what good customer service should look like. I have to acknowledge Lakeview Tire and its owner Melvin and his staff. Repairs were very accurate, time and rates to fix the issues were much better than we anticipated and parts were extremely reasonable. But, to be honest, I think we were more taken back the owners genuine desire to to go beyond basic service Melvin is an awesomely honest and trustworthy man. As abusiness owner, he has brought back integrity to an industry that has forgottent how to serve their clients. Give this guy a chance to earn your business. If you’re looking for an honest mechanic in New Orleans then Melvin is your guy. He took care of my and my husbands cars for the 5 years we lived in New Orleans. Wasn’t the closest mechanic but we went out of our way to go to him. Super nice and a straight shooter on what your car needs or doesn’t need. It’s a small shop and they’re always busy with cars already there from the day or days before, so they may not be able to get you in and out that day which is totally fair and understandable! Best to call or get there first thing in the AM and Melvin & Kurt will absolutely do their best to get you in as he can with the jobs they’ve already committed to. He runs the shop, works the cars AND also answers the phone, so don’t be discouraged if it rings for a minute or you have to call back, he’s only one guy! Only reason we left is because we moved out of state but I would recommend Melvin and his crew to anyone. Thank you Melvin!
I’ve had a tough time finding honest mechanics so it was a HUGE relief when I met Melvin. He customizes his care to fit your needs. He’s honest, reliable, and a straight shooter. He breaks everything down in a way you can understand and only strives to make you whole again. I’ve never had a problem with Melvin over several years. I’d recommend him to anyone looking for an honest mechanic. The guy is a machine! I’m not sure how someone can simultaneously run the front office, answer phones, work on cars, and all the other things he does for his customers. Despite this, no matter how busy he is, he’ll eventually get to your car and set you straight. Thanks for everything Melvin.

Wish I could give more than 5 stars! This was the best experience I have had with a mechanic in my life. Finding good mechanics that I can trust is incredibly hard for me as a young woman who doesn’t know much about cars. But the staff here is honest, professional, and very kind. Melvin Sr. and Jacob went above and beyond! Definitely gained a loyal customer today.
