Lakewood Shopping Center

We LOVE the Scrap Exchange. There is no other store like it around. Unique items for both crafting and home decor. If you are looking for craft material or inspiration, this is the place to visit! The kids love it too! The bucket/barrel section is always a huge hit with the little ones and excellent way to spend a few hours of quality time on a budget. Can't wait to visit the new thrift store and art galleries when they open!

There's three reasons to go here, the first and biggest is scrap exchange. If you haven't gone recently, you need to! They've opened up a huge thrift store with a great selection of men's clothes (something most thrift stores lack) and an even greater selection of women's clothes. Remember to check out both of their buildings, both in Lakewood. The 2nd reason to go is the Mexican restaurant that I forget to name of, but you'll know it when you see it. The 3rd reason? You've probably forgotten how nice it is to not have to search for a parking space, and this place will remind you.

Old and poorly maintained. Cracked and uneven pavement. Food Lion is the only store that is clean and in good repair.

I work here. At the Scrap Thrift, every moment changing the shopping center for everyone in it and the community around it. Changing Durham everyday with art, culture, love and unity! (Look what I made)

This place looks like it used to be popping.....but now it's more abandoned than anything else. If Food Lion and Dollar General wasn't there it would be nothing. The good news is there seems to be a Food Truck place coming soon! I'm looking forward to that.
