Las Tortas Locas is a chain of nine fast-casual restaurants in Metro-Atlanta featuring quality Mexican food. BuHi features two in Atlanta near Clairmont Road and in Chamblee. It has a nice seating area and many patrons dine in. There is a great salsa/condiment bar in the center of the restaurant for people with varying taste buds, although it is mostly catered to heat seekers. Meal highlights were the Torta Mexicana and the Huracha. I am looking forward to trying more of the tortas, including the Toluqueña and Norteña and more condiments in the salsa bar.
This is a hole in the wall but the tacos especially the Al Pastor with cheese and pineapple are SO good! You know it’s authentic when there’s always a soccer game on the TV and they will never ask you if you want flour tortillas. I’ll often find myself making an excuse to come run an errand this way just so I can get the tacos here. The staff is friendly but pretty much only speaks Spanish. Don’t miss the condiments bar and some of the delicious incredibly spicy salsas.
Soooo glad my friend and I stopped by. Not going to lie I was skeptical of giving this place a try because I’ve had food at two of the other locations and they were very mediocre. However, this location is DELICIOUS!! Hands down some of the best barbacoa tacos ever. The meat was so tender, juicy, and flavorful. And they weren’t skimpy either. I ended up getting a barbacoa burrito togo because it was that good. And again they PACKED it with meat. I would skip the asada/bistec tacos though. They lacked flavor and were dry imo. My friend had the al pastor tacos and she said this is the best taco she’s had since Mexico. The agua de mango was decent. They also have a good selection of salsa green creamy salsa is my fav!!, crema, and toppings. On top of all that! They’re super affordable in inflation terms lol in comparison to a lot of place. 3 tacos + agua de mango was $12 bucks!! The burrito was $8!! The cashier was nice and spoke a little English. She tried her best which I appreciated. So bring your manners if you decide to visit!! All in all, I love this place!! And it’s not too far from me either. Fingers crossed they’re on Ubereats >.<. Def give them a try!! Parking: Plenty of parking + the plaza wasn’t super busy. Kid-friendliness: Very chill and laid back. Enough space for kids + delicious food to occupy them!!
Delicious tacos for a great price! The truck is not there Sundays. The random people I ate with on the picnic table really just saw this searching where to eat off the highway just like me lol the owner of the truck asks for my feedback. Oh they also ask if you like watermelons and give you a some as a side dish at no extra charge.
Outgoing and friendly. Counter service. Sandwiches are good size. The burritos used to be larger, but are still a good size. Whichever protein you choose, it will fill the majority of your burrito. Fixings such as onions, cilantro, beans, etc. don't take up much real estate. The pastor and bistec were stuffed with meat. Fairly quick service, cooked to order. Clean place.
I have always gone to this business near Plaza Fiesta. When I arrived I wanted to order 2 huaraches and on the screen it had a price of 6 dollars and something, and a tamarind water, the cashier told me that it was 22 dollars and something which seemed very expensive, she replied that the huaraches already cost 8 and something and I told her better take that away from me and get the flautas order, I paid her and she gave me receipt #108 Ok, then they started saying the orders to pick them up they named 109 and 110, I got up and went to where they deliver the orders and they don't give me anything. Afterwards, I angrily told the manager why they skipped my order and he just apologizes. You are paying for your food and they should not skip the orders. I'm not coming back to this place.
The serving portions are like what I see in my dad’s little home town in Mexico low protein to reduce cost lots of bread and onions Service: 5 stars Agua de horchata: 5 stars. I could easily see this becoming a favorite Torta de pollo empanizado breaded chicken: 1 star. I was so so so incredibly disappointed in this sandwich and I was starving when I picked it up so... my standards weren’t very high at that time lol. I was mostly disappointed in the star of the show, the chicken! The edges were burnt, the chicken was beat so thin that when they cooked it the resulting product was like chewing on chicken jerky. I’ve attached a photo of the chicken. It’s on the bottom... kind of hard to even see. I would have loved to pay more for a decent sandwich. Based on other reviews it looks like the quality has decreased all the way around the last burrito photo I saw was pretty sad. I ended up taking this home, throwing away the “chicken”, and added deli meat to salvage the sandwich. Even then the bread didn’t seem all that fresh and they went heavy on the onions but the rear of the ingredients were scarce. I wanted to love this place but sadly didn’t have a great first experience. The hunt for a good torta is still on :0
These fools really hung up on me when i tried placing a order on the phone, so i called them back & they said "no english" & hung up. If i could give no Stars I WOULDService: 1/5
Really good tacos and taquitos. Just don't order a bottled Coke, it's $3.19. Food: 5/5
I love tortas locas an their “Torta de queso de puerco” but they are becoming so lazy when making the food now. I was so hungry and ready to get home and eat, best believe when i say i was so disappointed when i got home to eat this!! Like really?
