Las Vegas Tourist Bureau

I'm sorry, but I will no longer take my family to outdoor venues in big cities after the recent Las Vegas shooting. Cities and states need to work with feds and change the availability of automatic firing guns. Meanwhile, their police need to be ready for shooters to ensure that concert crowds will be safe. There is no excuse for allowing one man to shoot and kill 59 people. It is easy these days for someone to get a rifle and modify it using a slide kit for mass murder (which turns some guns automatic). Why couldn't the police be ready for this with a sniper. Do we need automatic weapons in the USA for entertainment, like on the Las Vegas strip where you can demo one (thank you for choosing gun entertainment over safety, tourist bureau and city of Las Vegas). This city isn't protective of its tourists! The police need to be ready with their own snipers, since we know people can build a automatic gun from a kit. Sure, I can take my children to indoor venues, but what does this teach them about the price of gun freedom in america. Are we afraid of public spaces because we have a lack of gun control? Are automatic weapons a priority over public gatherings? Unfortunately, only tourism dollars have a chance to induce legislation and action. I don't blame everyone at this bureau, but I do think there is a lack of civic responsibility in this tourism bureau. Maybe this tourism bureaus should no longer market to families. It is OK for the city to allow a large event, when they don't have police snipers ready for a sick man with a rifle? We can only hope that the tourism board motto, "what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas," is literally true in this case as well.
