I went with a friend who needed legal advice upon the breakup of her marriage. Joanne was extremely thorough, understanding, and supportive. She also explained things very clearly so that the info could be processed more easily. Joanne was able to dispel any questions/concerns and offer substantive info. Also, she was efficient, stayed on point but also allowed opportunities for questions and discussion when needed. That is to say, she has a wealth of experience, knows what she's doing, doesn't waste time or money and she makes sure that she covers all of the bases and her clients are comfortable, informed, and respresented with their best interests in mind.

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!! A friend of mine is going through the beginning stages of separation, and looking for a divorce lawyer. I scheduled a same day appointment with Joanne E Kleiner because things aren’t going well for my friend. Because my friend and I were coming from work, on our lunch hour, we arrived 15 minutes late, which we communicated to the receptionist several times, and which we understood and accepted that would be time taken away from our consultation. When we arrived, Joanne stood up and in a rude, unprofessional, and unwarranted scolding manner said “You are late and I have an appointment right after yours, so I want you to know your appointment is going to be short”. - My friend and I turned around and left. It was absolutely unnecessary and unacceptable for her to act that way to my friend, given the reason we were there. I absolutely do not recommend even making an appointment with this person if you value respect, professionalism, empathy, and solidarity.

Joanne is very knowledgeable, timely in her response to any questions, and very compassionate, all things you look for in any lawyer, but especially a family lawyer.

Joanne represented me in a custody dispute which involved my ex-wife seeking to move my kids out of state. I share equal custody of the children with their mother and this move would have had a devastating effect on me. Joanne took my case on and worked tirelessly to defend my interests. She proved to be thorough, professional, knowledgeable and incredibly experienced. She came highly recommended by attorney acquaintances of mine and based on my experience I recommend her whole heatedly and without reservation. Joanne is the reason my boys continue to have their father in their lives in a regular and consistent manner.
