Check in at the hotel was a bit of a mess. Room wasn't ready until 1hr after the 4:30 check in time and they did not give any advance notice. The staff seemed very overwhelmed by the amount of guests that day. The bar was closed, so there wasn't much to do while waiting for the room besides sit in the lobby. The room itself was good. Comfy beds and everything was clean. Fair for the price, but nothing too special. Felt a little small for our party of 3, but good if you aren't planning on being in the room too much. Trying to get our car at checkout was tough. The valet attendant said it would take about an hour to get our car if we waited. He instead gave us the address of where the cars are kept so I could pick it up myself, just a 5 minute walk away. Considering the late check in + having to get my own car, I would have expected they offer a discount on the $33 valet parking they charged. If this is the only hotel with availability, staying here is fine, but there are definitely better hotels in the area.
Very nice and old hotel. Love the look and design. Rooms though need some serious upgrades and some handy repairs. Door knob to the bathroom room is barely hanging on. Plus the room was in bad need of a dusting and window cleaning. Also didn't care for the coffee maker being in the bathroom. Even though I don't drink it. The staff on the other hand was amazing. Especially the ladies at the front desk. They were extremely polite and helpful. I also like the lobby bar there's a lot of history in the hotel worth checking out.
Staff is INCREDIBLE!!! So friendly and tactful with our corperate event last week. Space is beautiful and the rooms are great. The bathtub is perfect for those bigger bodied individuals so make sure you bring a bath bomb! Beds were super comfy too. Walking distance to most everything the Charm City has to offer and if not in walking distance? Don’t worry about it, get yourself a scooter and explore and maybe cause some trouble around town in the best way possible! The views are great and will absolutely be back, if not for the staff…the ghosts!! My group had many different experiences with the ghosts and I’ll tell you they were all pleasant!
Historic and storied history of this old structure. The building has lovely bones. However, there is need for repairs and a more thorough cleaning. The doorknob on our bathroom was falling off. The room was very dusty. The staff was extremely pleasant and very helpful.Rooms: 3/5
The hotel has a great history, well decorated, and located close to activities. Staff was welcoming whenever we came and went in the lobby. Saw flyovers during fleet week which was great! There were some run down areas inside, including water spots in the ceiling but it is going through renovations. We would definitely come back if ever in Baltimore again.
This hotel was so exquisite and charming. From the moment I walked into it I was mesmerized by it's beauty. Our room was very spacious, our beds were so comfortable. We had breakfast at the Bistro and it was delicious.
Valet service were very funny and friendly. Print service at 6:30 AM! Most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in and the Shower was wonderful. Wish we could have stayed longer to experience more, but we will definitely be back! Unfortunately no ghost experiences . 13/10 would recommend!!!Rooms: 5/5
Great old hotel that is clean and well-maintained. Appears the rooms have been recently updated. The staff is very helpful. Only problem here is not the hotel but it's patrons, hotel smells like Marijuana from all the smoking. Otherwise been 5 stars.Rooms: 4/5
Very disappointed in our stay, everything said coming soon inside of the hotel, the hotel its self is beautiful however the bathrooms need updating as I took a cold shower and the water never warmed up. The elevators shook, and the doors were a little hard to open. Beds are comfortable though. If you have never visited the hotel check out the gruesome history. Rooms: Needs upgrading Nearby activities: Power plant live is where we ended up spending our nights as there was something different to do each night. Walkability: Didn't need our vehicle the entire weekend Food & drinks: They had a bar, but closed at 11:30. We did not eat or drink there.
I spent one night in this hotel. The staff was very friendly. I was disappointed that the sky bar was closed and the restaurant in the lobby had changed hands. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. I wish the hotel was closer to the parking, but that's not something the hotel can control. I travel solo female; if you're traveling alone and are easily intimidated by "urban campers" this hotel probably isn't for you. For me, it was perfect.
