I’ve visited Legacy Records several times, and it never disappoints! Our most recent dinner a few days ago was great. I tried the chicken, which had a uniquely tender texture that I can’t quite explain, but I absolutely loved it. We also enjoyed the Honey Lacquered Duck. For dessert, we tried the Fig Tart and a pumpkin donut that was recommended to us, even though it wasn’t on the menu. It was a delightful surprise! I do wish they would bring back the Pavlova dessert they used to have; it was a favorite of mine. The food is exceptional, and while the service could use a little improvement, it was still pretty good overall. Highly recommend giving it a try!
An outstanding dining experience from head to toe. Fantastic cocktails, apps and entree. Excellent seasonal desserts, great decor great music. A clear cut about the rest in the area. Standouts for me was the heirloom tomato salad with fish roe, Crudo tasting, the duck breast and the pumpkin donut. However the Mezcal Kiwi cocktail was literally top 5 drinks of my life and will be thinking about it for a while. Thanks to the team and Chef Nate!!
I didn’t come in time to try the food, but the drinks at the bar were delicious. The bartender was clearly outnumbered by the customers but still provided excellent customer service! I also love the art deco ambiance.Service: 5/5
We arrived at Ada's place but learned it was closed for renovation. Instead, we found seats at Legacy Records. Our bartender, Sam, skillfully crafted the delicious cocktails we enjoyed that night. I particularly liked the chartreuse and strawberry. The atmosphere was very relaxing. If you're in the mood for a speakeasy-style cocktail, this is the place to go!
Some of the dishes tasted quite good like the duck, but some were bland like most of the others. But the food was overshadowed by how long everything took—three hours for a dinner with only three courses, with long periods of not seeing the server, only to be interrupted mid-sentence as soon as the server was back to ask whether your water glass was still or sparkling. Also, the tabletops are a black leather that, when exposed to water such as the condensation at the bottom of a cold glass, turn a rusty-looking filament of brown, that doesn’t appear appetizing. There are many restaurants in NYC for this price point, and I’d choose another one.
This place is a MUST go, we visited here last year for the very first time with friends we had an amazing experience, and my wife and I decided to tried again; well… we were not disappointed whatsoever!!! From the very start our server was the incredible “S” who knew the details about the dishes and she delivered one of the best service that we have ever received from a server/waitress on the hospitality industry. She was an absolute delight to work with and we truly appreciated her very much!. The fermented bread is out of this world, the pumpkin raviolis are an incredible and delicious dish and the cocktails were on point! The atmosphere on the restaurant is very captivating and private, it was a Friday night and probably still early as it was only a few tables by the time we left, we got there at 630 PM. We will be back for more once we are in town for more delicious flavors!
The food is absolutely incredible. The new chef Lucas Harrell has brought balanced bursts of flavor throughout the menu. From the diverse array of crudo, the outrageously delicious pastas and the mains—our favorite was the famous legacy duck and the truffle-stuffed chicken, which may be the best chicken any of us ever had! And the homemade gelato and Mille feuille were *chefs kiss* Restaurant is beautiful and service was also great. Delicious cocktails too!
Service was in top!! The food is amazing. We’ve had a private room and absolutely loved itFood: 5/5
I really enjoyed my night at Legacy Records. The atmosphere, service, and menu were incredible. Even the music was a vibe. The staff was mindful of my girlfriend's dietary restrictions right from the start. We ordered the mackerel with pepitas and gooseberries what a delightfully unexpected combo, grilled octopus, squid ink spaghetti with anchovy, pain d'epi legacy bread, oysters, scallops, japanese sweet potatoes, and prickly pear sorbet. Maybe it was a silly story, but learning that their bread was imported from France and churned by nuns was hilarious. I loved that little bit of info. I did order the squid ink spaghetti with anchovy anticipating a more fishy and salty flavor, but it tasted a bit on the bright with citrus side perhaps. The mackerel and sweet potatoes were the big standouts for both of us, while everything else was still so exceptional... However, we wanted to end the night with dessert, and unfortunately, the final impression was not a great one. We exchanged bites of the prickly pear sorbet, and both got a mouth full of sea salt that really pulled us out of the experience. I had to ask our waiter if that was intentional and it appeared to be so. I didn't want to be "one of those people" and return my food, so I tried to eat around it, but it really did put a damper on my mood. If this was noted on the menu or by my waiter prior, I could've asked to please hold the sea salt, and the food would be 5 stars. But I do thank you for an overall great night!
What can I say about this amazing place except this is not an ordinary night, it was an experience…From the classy decor to the amazing service, this was nothing short of spectacular. Our server Delia was beautiful, helpful and friendly. The food was delicious and very different from most dining experiences. You won’t find a burger or chicken wings here and that was perfect because when you want an experience, you don’t want ordinary and they delivered. The octopus was to die for and the Manager Josh was a joy in every sense of the word. When we were blessed with a beautiful pastry desert with coconut ice cream I was taken over by an amazing melting of taste in my mouth that I want to go back for. This is not an inexpensive experience but if you want ambience, service, delicious food then please check them out! So worth it and so worth you. Don’t miss it!
