I'm surprised by the poor ratings as I've always had a good experience shopping here, including when it was Leisure Pro. They hold a good range of stock considering they're right in the middle of Midtown, so you can actually try stuff on before buying, and they can order stuff in for you easily if you're after something they don't have in stock. They carry good quality gear, fairly priced, but the real selling point for me is the customer service: I made several visits ahead of a Galapagos liveaboard trip in March and Mary gave me fantastic advice about gear choices and was very patient as I dithered over whether to invest in a 5mm or 7mm suit. She really knows her stuff and was so friendly and helpful. No problems returning or exchanging gear when stuff I ordered online didn't fit right. If you're planning to go into the store in person, worth being aware they observe the Sabbath so are closed Friday afternoons and Saturdays.

I placed an order for a wetsuit for my daughter for Christmas. Fortunately, they didn’t have her size in stock for the wetsuit I had picked out for her. I say, fortunately, because as soon as they found out that they didn’t have her size in stock, rather than receiving an impersonal email that says this item is out of stock and on back order and leaving me panic stricken, I received a phone call from a company employee, Kristina, to tell me that the particular wetsuit was out of stock. Kristina went out of her way to assist me to provide my daughter with the best possible wetsuit. I am someone that knows absolutely nothing about snorkeling or scuba diving equipment, but Kristina made sure that I ordered the right size and the right type of wetsuit. I am so impressed by their customer service and even more so impressed by how knowledgeable Kristina was, that I feel compelled to write an excellent review for this company in for their employees. In a time when customer service is nearly nonexistent, this company has it right. Customer friendly and knowledgeable. I highly recommend them, and appreciate Kristina’s effort, her knowledge, and the fact that she was so personable. I could have come up short for my daughter on Christmas morning, but I’m not going to because of the company’s great customer service, and great effort. Thank you Kathy Warzecha

I been their customer for years. I got my first set of gear when i got my open water cert. I got full replacement when Hurricane Sandy left me without it. Top notch knowledgeable folks. Fast reliable service. Thank you.

Honestly this is one of the best scuba and snorkel outfitters I have ever been to. They are kind courteous and knowledgeable and no matter where you look you will not be able to find a better deal on gear. I am looking forward to our latest trip down to the keys to try out the newest equipment we bought. I’ll definitely be coming back in the future!

I had an unexpected great time visiting this store. The salesman was very knowledgeable, friendly and patient. They have a wide variety of scuba items available. I didn't intend on buying a speargun today, but I guess I have new toy! Huge thanks from me to the salesman today!

Really Bad Customer Service. I Place an order, and the order came incomplete. According to them, I have to wait until they have the time to do an inventory for them to know if they have that extra part. Days went by and I still waiting for an Answer. Today, I'm returning everting back and I'm waiting for the refund. I Lost a dive trip Last weekend because all the delays and I'm fixing to miss the one this weekend because of them.

When researching scuba gear I usually visit the Leisure Pro website. Call visiting New York, I knew I had to visit the store. The store is small, but the staff is very friendly and willing to get any scuba gear you need from downstairs where they store their inventory.

Not sure why the ranking here isn't better. They are super helpful for in store visits, make no attempt to upsell and in fact steered me items in the past that have been cheaper but better fit for purpose. I did return one item because I changed my mind on it and there were absolutely no issues. Despite living nearby I've also ordered items while on holiday and they arrived quickly with no problems. Highly recommended.

Great place to order& service all my scuba gear never a problem , Delivery is crazy fast , I have called explained I was leaving on a dive trip needed , Regs serviced fast no problem. They go out of there way even on returns never a problem . No one no one will beat there prices plus they carry all makes & models from every scuba manufacturer. That’s why leisure pro in business so long when others have gone with the wind , Leisure pro still here selling & servicing dive gear

Needed a triple x drysuit in a rush. Arthur in California had a couple brought from the NY warehouse to the showroom in time for me to rush into the city try on and buy one. Mary took excellent care of me letting me try on several hoods and explaining features . She even taught me a new seal trimming trick! Ran out of there forgetting my drysuit underwear so she express mailed them to me in NJ in time for my trip ! Excellent prices and service !!
