One of the nicest gyms I've ever used, particularly the coed 'spa' with sauna, cold plunge, hot tub, steam room, and relaxation area with lounge chairs. The place is huge, but the layout is a bit confusing. Could use some more glute machines. Love the cafe/lounge that's great for working. The staff are awesome - friendly and diverse. Definitely make me feel comfortable in what could very easily be an intimidating environment. The main downside is that 10% or so of the people who workout here are entitled slobs that don't wipe down equipment, don’t reset weights, and leave towels everywhere making it look a mess briefly. I can't fault the gym for that. The people out on the floor are super nice and helpful and always cleaning up. About a 50% chance you’ll get a not-so-friendly front desk person. The ‘I’m too hot to smile at you’ types. All this is pretty typical of a nice gym, however.
We have been lifetime members for quite some time and we have never experienced a worst encounter. We had to take an Uber 30 minutes away to get sent back because the website does not specified that no kids under 15 are allowed on top of it they show beautiful pictures of a pool on the roof which is not for lifetime members but for the luxury apartment tenants. I do not recommend this lifetime.
Truly amazing HOT coed steam room and sauna/cold plunge/hot tub, and just an okay small cardio area. Minus two stars since they charge an additional $1,500 for the summer to access the outdoor pool when this gym is already over $260/mo with tax. Let that sink in.
False advertising on the website. The advertised rooftop pool is not part of the "Full Club Access" - there's no mention about it on the website or in person, only found out when I asked about the pool access. The gym itself is pretty basic and without the pool definitely not worth the $249/month. Staff is is pretty rude and doesn't seem interested in helping customers.
Unfortunately, I had to cancel my membership today, because I felt not just unsatisfied, but discriminated against by the services provided. Basically, there are a lot of successful people going to this fitness center, and if you are not on the top of this chain, they can mistreat you because they have a lot of customers and having just minus one would not make a difference. I used this fitness center for 4 months, and at the beginning everything was beautiful. I had personal training sessions that were greatly done, I enjoyed the spa procedures. I started having issues with this fitness center 2 weeks ago, and I have spent at least 15 hours trying to deal with those issues. I was charged for the Fitness Training App, but this service has never been provided to me. I could not enter the app at the begging as there has been a bug, and then my personal trainer never uploaded my workout program, even though it was planned for me to work out 4 times a week basically, 8 workouts lost. Currently, I wrote an email, requesting a refund, and I have a suspicion that I may not be refunded. While a paid quite a lot of this service - 300 dollars. Today another issue occurred with the LifeTime spa administrator, Bella. I was late for my appointment for 15 minutes. My train did not come on time weekends, it happens, and I took an Uber to be more or less on time, because otherwise I would be 30 minutes late. When I came, Bella said that she canceled my service because they have a 15 minutes cancellation policy. When I showed her that it was exactly 15 minutes on the clock, she said that it’s already done. My appointment was supposed to last for nearly two hours. While I would fully understand that I would have to pay in full for a reduced service due to the fact that I came late, I do not understand how a professional can look a customer in they eye, hear that the customer took an Uber to get here as quick as possible, and still say, well, sorry, there is nothing I can do. When I said that this means that I will never use this service again, she simply said - ok. I am quite sure that if I was one of their “top clients”, she would not have talked in this way with me. I saw quite a few people treated well, but I also heard some very bad reviews about LifeTime services. Now I understand why. If you are not at the top of the food chain, the elite service will show you that you are not yet good enough to be really elite. I would like to ask other customers to be conscientious of the fact that a group of people can make the same change that one important CEO could do as well. And I would like LifeTime to do some risk-analysis. Basically, I canceled my membership because being charged and not getting the service for two weeks, and getting a rude cancelation without any apologies or assistance in adjusting to a situation is not what can be called an elite service. It is mediocre at best. I will not use this fitness anymore, and also all of my colleagues from a law firm where I work are aware of the situation about 50 people, because they saw me constantly trying to deal with this app issue. Before they heard about this, they were even thinking of joining LifeTime because they heard how much I enjoyed this place. Also, I am an immigrant, and I constantly have friends about 40 people yearly moving to NY and asking what they should or should not use. LifeTime will be on the list of do not use from now on, because today I felt truly horrible. I felt disgraced and discriminated against, because getting rid of me and my membership will not do much. Now, I would like LifeTime to consider that they also lost about 300 potential future costumers. And all that would change this would be polite and not creating a two week issue for the services that someone paid you for.
I absolutely love the One Chicago Life Time in Chicago, and figured this would be an equivalent experience while I was visiting NYC. Ha! Wrong. This was a mediocre location, and I wish I had gone to DUMBO or Wall St instead. The front desk staff were rude, and said that I would need to purchase a day pass despite having received multiple emails from Life Time saying you can visit any location when traveling for $20 if I came back. The locker rooms are underground, and had only two bays of the tiniest lockers I have ever seen at a gym. Showers were large and had great water pressure, but the whole space was otherwise claustrophobic. The hot tub, cold tub, sauna, etc was beautiful but shared between the two locker rooms. I found this arrangement incredibly uncomfortable- it seemed weird to sweat, bathe, etc in front of women. It was then required to take a slow elevator to the "11th floor", where the actual gym is located. I was very excited by this, but it actually turned out to be the lowest floor above the lobby- definitely not what anyone would call Eleven floors high. Would have rather just taken the stairs lol. The workout facilities are very nice, but tightly packed in so you have little personal space. I will say, the cafe/lounge space was stunning, and the rooftop with it's two huge pools would have been stunning during the summer. However, there is a ridiculous $1,500 a year rooftop fee on top of the $250/month membership an additional 50% surcharge, so basically forget about that. Part of the floor was also reserved for the building residents to entertain guests, which I found to be a strange location. Obviously expectations of spaces are different in NYC, but I just felt underwhelmed for the cost of membership. For the same dues in Chicago, we are actually on the 10th floor of the skyscraper, have huge locker rooms with separate thermal suites, child care, parking, a full lap pool, and state-of-the-art elevators where you select the floor on the screen. Our pool fee is also only $700 or so. Will not be returning to this location.
Gym just ok. Very nice outdoor pool and patio. The staff needed to work on their friendliness. Members look predominantly young and white. I found this gym uncomfortable, I would not recommend this gym.
This place makes you feel like you can touch the Sky! The fitness floor is state of the art, classes are INCREDIBLE, the spa is lovely, the workspace is top notch, and don’t even get me started on the skydeck. The facilities are amazing, but the employees are really what make this place special. The team is tight knit and here to make your experience a fantastic one. I may be biased because I am a yoga teacher here, but I can honestly say that I love the people who I work with along with the members and completely support the company.
Best gym and spa experience in the area. Better than Equinox. If you're going to a premium club, choose LT over Equinox. Better value and experience.
Facility is good, but there is literally hundreds of lanternfly flying and crawling at the entrance of the gym and management is doing nothing to resolve this. I had to pay another 30 days of membership fee to cancel for the gym that I can't even enter.
