Pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food despite its shabby outer appearance. Inside, each table is surrounded by drapes to make the “room” more private. The menu was super diverse from breakfast items, to street food, to then dinner meals at an affordable price. Unfortunately we went at 7pm so there were no more rice noodles or haw fun. We ordered the curry porkchop, stuffed eggplant and peppers, fried fish with corn with white sauce on rice, pepper steak on rice, and peanut butter French toast. My favorite was the French toast - if I could I would order 5 of them. Perfectly soft and light crisp with a tang of saltiness matches cohesively with the syrup! The pepper steak was spicier than expected but bearable it had a bit too much pepper imo but it was still good. The fish with cream sauce was not what I expected, it also had some cheese. Each rice dish actually had egg with rice on the bottom which was an added bonus. I would definitely come back for another French toast, as well as to try more of the gigantic menu.
Got some sweet pastries and milk tea to go which took around ten min. We toasted the butter bun which was so crispy on the outside and creamy in the inside. The French toast was glazed with sugar which was good but too sweet in my opinion. Will come back to try more!
I had the triple ramen which consists of satay beef, fish ball and honeycomb tripe. They gave me cuts of tripe that were super tough and gross, nothing like the menu pics. Others ordered the all day breakfast sets that include HK tea. Staff said they were all out of hot version so we asked if they offered alternative hot drink. They said coffee, which we said yes to....they charged us for the coffees. We have been here a few times and the quality of their service and food has gone down.
Absolutely love this restaurant. Their dishes are really tasty and fresh and fast. Lol. If you want authentic Hong Kong cafe food then this place is it.
Excellent cafe/restaurant for a taste of Hong Kong style food. The most popular dishes are posted in large photos; they will make your mouth water. Weekend visit will mean 30-45 min waiting time. As for a number and hang out.
Th food was delicious just like Hong Kong style cafe. I would recommend everyone to try. The prices are reasonable. There so many choices to pick from especially the yummy HK style dishes. You are seated in your own table with privacy curtains I guess due to Covid or its the decor of the restaurant. They take credit cards and cash. One will have to find street parking so expect to walk a few blocks.
Other food r good except this chicken wing order, didn’t know can eat raw chicken, fur on the wings, and flavorless
THIS IS THE WORST SERVICE I' VE EVER HAD IN NEW YORK. FIRSTwe are in line to wait for a table. A couple left and a 50 year old like woman waitress asked us to sit. But then, we were told by another young waitress to leave the table cuz the table should be for another couple. Ok we gave the seats to them. But I heard that old waitress said we lied to her that we were the next customer for seats. I was angry. Then we got the seats after we were called. Unfortunately we got the seats but we sat right next to that couple. That man kept noticing us and murmuring to the woman. They kept verbally abusing us with all bad words. I felt uncomfortable. I could hear that old lady waitress said sth bad about us to the young waitress. After they left, we ready to check out. The young waitress had ignored us like two times amd even she put her back facing to us and just pretended not to hear anything. I was like#%^*+-/^*+=[{{%^}*{+!!!! Finally that waitress came over with fake smile after I said I would not go there anymore. I gave them tips and they kept saying thank you and I just ignored them. My announcement: I definitely won't step in there any more in my life!!! The service is THE WORST and MEAN, that old lady waitress kept making people around misunderstood us and jut did not admit her fault. This person is not Honest and just pushed responsibility on other innocent customers which made us felt bad and sad!!! So frustrated as being same as Chinese, they behaved in this such a way!!! We order some food and they just tasted not as good as we expected. Just normal food which you can definitely get something better somewhere else!!! WILL DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE FOR A GOOD MOOD YO EAT!!! IT WILL RUIN YOUR DAY!!! ABSOLUTELY NOT RECOMMENDING "LIKE CAFE" with the worst service I've ever received in my life!!!!
Hidden Gem! LOVE THIS PLACE!! Always good food and service. Beef noodles are on point. The soup dumplings are SO JUICY! Great deals for buy 1 get 1 half off or buy 3 and get 1 FREE! Can't beat that!! If you never tried Hong Kong food and don't plan to fly 13hrs there, then give this place a try
I used to buy buns from this place every Saturday. It's one of the best bakeries I have been to their buns are well made, the texture is just right and the balance of the flavors gives you a perfect glimpse of what a perfect bread tastes like.Food: 5/5
