A great place to satisfy cravings for HK food, but it has gone down in quality throughout the years. My favorite thing to get here used to be the super baked pork chop rice, which came with a hot dog and egg. When I came most recently, it tasted lackluster and the pork chop was a bit tough. The shrimp and egg noodles were still delicious as I remembered, but the shrimp wasn't as good as before. I also ordered the salt and pepper tofu and that was definitely as good as always. You can't go wrong getting staple Chinese dishes here, as evidenced by the ample takeout orders I saw throughout my meal. : Parking is easy on weekdays until peak dinner time, then it's a minefield of bad drivers making bad decisions...
You may experience a short line during weekend lunch, they had implemented self-service ordering and paying by QR code. Servers were busy but attentive. Stir-fried spaghettini with beef, sandwich came with 4 pieces and fries, and Complimentary soup tasted good. Baked chicken rice “” can use some more sauce. All dishes we ordered were in fairly large portion.
Local Cafe is one of the best HK-style cafes I’ve ever been to. It’s right up there with G & Y Bakery & Cafe in SF. We loved the spare ribs chow fun and the baked chicken with two kinds of sauce over rice. I can’t way to go back for their salt and pepper dishes.Food: 5/5
Friendly neighborhood cafe that provides fast service and very decent Hong Kong style of cooking at a good price and nice portion. It is a gem to have in the South Bay.
Loved the fried rice and BBQ pork. The dishes are also tasty and go well with rice. The portion is huge - we made the mistake of ordering too much.Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: NoTakeout: YesDelivery: Yes
The food is not bad as a Hong Kong style cafe with lots of varieties. I ordered the traditional baked rice and french toast which came out okay. The baked rice was a bit bland with pepper sauce and the rice wasn't coated enough with the egg. I would recommend this place if you want to see what hk cafe is about and have a baseline of bare minimum.
Skip this place. The worst Hong Kong food in the area. Everything was either no flavor or overcooked.
Happy to found this place. Authentic Hong Kong style cafe, they made the food exactly how it should taste in the street of HK. I ordered the pork belly and with rice. They made it with sauce and fried tofu. The ice HK style milk tea is much better than those boba places that charges more than $6 a cup. If you want to get a taste of the good eats of HK this is the place to go!
I had ordered once in Feb the pork was sour. But today good experience when dine in. Got free hot tea and lunch special which is the good baked rice plate in picture and the authentic Hongkong milk tea!!! $15 lunch and 95% in app or cash!
Visited this restaurant a couple of times, and decide not to dine in this restaurant anymore. The quality of the food was very unstable, and there were times when the dish was served undercooked. Despite this issue, the restaurant refused to take responsibility for their mistake and failed to acknowledge their fault. Moreover, the staff's service attitude was extremely poor. They seemed uninterested in serving customers and lacked basic courtesy and politeness. I felt unwelcome and unappreciated. To make matters worse, the restaurant had issues with calculating the bills accurately. They manually calculated the charges, and after we corrected them, they did not apologize but only refunded the difference. However, a few days later, they requested more charges from our bank than what was initially stated on the bill, and we had to dispute the transaction to get back the overcharged amount. Overall, my experience at this restaurant was very unsatisfactory. I would not recommend it to anyone due to the unstable food quality, poor service attitude, and inaccurate billing practices.
