On the weekdays this place is very chill and slower pace for its atmosphere, it is such nice play to have a talk with your friends. They have a decent selection out of tap beers and canned beers.
When no other place was open without a wrist band or some other restriction or closing down, this place was open and welcoming. Yes, you could barely fit as super bowl really packed them in. It was also the first place I was able to get a beer and watch the game in a festive atmosphere. Great bartenders, even under that kind of stress! Polite staff as well.
PHL old school restaurant across from the Academy of Music. Excellent food and the servers are amazing. They are engaging and want you to have a great time. Really good daily specials both food and booze. Great prices and portions. I had the French Dip and it was simply delicious. Check this joint out when you are in Midtown. Cheers.
It's a dive bar, but in the best way possible. Cheap and delicious food and drinks, and the sandwiches are excellent. They aren't joking when they say best reuben in the city, and I'd say the same about their French onion soup! Servers are super friendly too. This place is a diamond in the rough.
I’ve been here twice and the first time was great! Unfortunately, tonight was quite the opposite. My two friends and I went here a couple hours ago excited to chill and have good conversation. We initially stood for a little bit before a few people left and a few chairs opened up at the bar. My one friend got a beer and me and my other friend got water wanted to have a water before having our next drink since we had been drinking all day we planned to obviously keep drinking after finishing our water but 5 minutes into sitting there the Bartendar told me and my friend if we didn’t order anything that we had to give up our seats to her friends standing behind us. She continued to give us a hard time even after we said we were just waiting for our friend to get his food that he ordered and she rudely told us she needed the seats for her friends and needed us to get up if we weren’t ordering a drink at that very moment. I understand you want more business, but rushing us into ordering a drink instead of waiting another 5 minutes for us to be ready to order? She was very rude and I immediately had no interest in staying, and won’t be recommending this bar to anyone anymore. We waited for our bar seats just like everyone else, first come first serve. Very upset to see how she handled that situation. Very unprofessional. *just read other bad reviews about a clearly racist and rude waitress. It was probably the same one :
Decent watering hole with friendly staff and good bar food
WILL NEVER RETURN! Bouncer Greg kicked us out purely because we had a few gay friends with us and, as he put it: "we don't allow people like that in our bar" - discusting display!
Some of the best pub/small town bar food I’ve had in Philly for reasonable prices. Two dinners for 40$ including tip. Had roast beef, Mac and cheese, French onion soup and fried raviolis. Would recommend to anyone.
Hidden gem tucked in the heart of downtown Philly. Amazing staff, great beer variety, full selection of liquors and decent quality pub fare options. Hands down one of the best meet up and chill spots in center city.
First time customer and not a last time customer. The perfect dive bar. Clean, friendly, good food, TVs for sports, etc. Our server Kimberly and the other staff were fantastic and friendly. Turkey club turkey made in house, eggplant parmigiana platter homemade, chix parm sammie homemade and funnel cake fries. Plus, plenty of quality adult beverages.
