I had a very high expectation as it is said to have the best paella and Spanish tapas in NJ area. It’s fairly good but doesn’t amaze me. Some seafood feels not very fresh. Overall slightly disappointing…
It got 4 stars only because their house wine was beyond and above. The food was mediocre and boring. I would personally cut the menu at least in half or just leave 25%. Clams were returned to the kitchen because they were bitter.
The experience was ok; the music was too loud, it was hard to keep a normal conversation. The service was ok too, the food took very long to come out, and it was terrible. I asked for lamb medium-well and got overcooked hard lamb meat. The garnish sauce was extremely salty, and the pieces of lamb tiny. From each piece of lamb, the most I got was three bites. The waiter said there were no side dish options; it was "whatever the chef felt like giving me." The vegetables that the chef felt like giving me were tasteless and seemed like microwaved veggies. I also got mashed potatoes, which was decent. I would not consider going back to that place or recommending it.
Tried this spot for another date night and this one was cool because they were open til 2 interesting closing time for Rona times but hey we getting better and the eats this time were A1. My lady had the veggie paella and I had to try their shrimp angel hair we also shared the mushrooms — very well done! She had her tasty wine and I went with a simple blue moon. The outside area is really nice looking but it was a bit chilly last night in particular so the waiter kindly setup a table for us inside. The place is really dope inside too. We thought we needed a res cause it looked packed but oh no never worry about getting a table most of the time these guys are fast and thorough, even on a Friday night. Check em out soon!
This is a 4.5 start Place !!! Great location; tasty food; good balances between each Tapas !!! Its really taste fresh from the scratch !! I just hope the service get more on point Please clean the menus or just create a digital one so we as customers do not feel our hands so greasy
I really enjoyed the food here. The cigarette smell is definitely off putting but I'm glad the food made up for it. Save space for dessert that tirimasu is really something special!!
Amazing food and service! We had the Spanish meatballs, an amazing monkfish dish and another wonderful filet mignon and ham dish. The wines were also extremely good. Highly recommend this place!
My favorite parts of the meal were the bread and cheese at the beginning, and then when we left at the end. My BF and I had been wanting to try this spot out for a while. We always passed by it and saw that they had HH drinks/tapas til 11 at the bar, M-F. We came in on a Monday at around 8:30 and the place was pretty empty. Maybe because it was a Monday? But I don't think I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt, because the food was pretty terrible so I think that was the reason. It was like they just pulled in anybody who was available for the night, put them in the kitchen, and said "hey, whatever you think this tapas dish is, make your interpretation of it with whatever we have in the kitchen. Here is everything we had: Chicken wings - these were smothered in some kind of sauce. It tasted like AYCE wings that you'd get from a Hoboken bar. Not really sure what we were thinking when we decided to order this. Lomo embuchado - so we didn't know what this was and they told us it was thinly sliced pork. But I just Googled it and it's actually dry-cured pork loin. What we got was a thin, and dry piece of salty pork. Not exactly the same as dry-cured. Croquetas - pretty basic. These are definitely refried again and again, if they can't sell them all Meatballs - salty and dry Seafood salad - we were told that this was ceviche but in actuality, it was just boiled shrimp and squid, covered in an old salsa Shrimp ajillo - this was the only thing that was actually not bad. But it's not enough to make me want to come back Drinks were no better. I had a cosmo and BF had a mojito and both were straight sugar. Maybe the regular, non-happy hour hour menu is better? doubtful Try the "tapas" at your own risk.
Great setting, broad selection of seafood and steak and a nice wine list. The service is extremely attentive even with our large party that we had present.
Lola’s is a nice spot in Hoboken. The ambiance is very cool and the appetizers are amazing. Wait staff was on top of everything making sure we were alright with everything. This spot is def worth taking the drive over the river for a nice Sunday brunch or early dinner!
