We had heard the story of the Lost Forty Acres and wanted to visit this original piece of North American Forest on our way to Bemidji State Park in the beginning of June. We walked the path through the forest without problem. Remarkable was the variation of trunk size of the trees, you don't see that thick trees in younger forest. In June, we had insect repellent and we needed it.

Very beautiful and peaceful. Could use some up keep on signs, there were broken or missing signs. It's comforting to know a part of history is preserved and not forgotten or trashed
