Lost River Hostel

My husband and I decided to try an unconventional place for our anniversary and Lost River Hostel made us fall in love with it. Simple, rustic and homelike place where you could spend your time either with hens & 'the' rooster or hiking or cultural activities/art or playing different musical instruments or lazying around in a country side or simply talking to people there (our best memories) about the life and their experiences. You don't need gadgets or phones to pass your day. It's a perfect detox. Having said enough about the place, we enjoyed a beautiful evening with the people who live and work there. They made sure we were welcomed and we had everything we needed. The dinner and the bonfire is something you'd not want to miss! The stories of their experiences and simple funny conversations are something to dig for. We met Ryan, Scott, Martin, Kelley, Bob and Tim from the team. It was like living with a family of people from different parts of the country. It's a 'must go' place to spend at least a weekend if you are in Indiana

I loved it here .Scott the owner is a genuine person who cares for people and an all around stand up guy. Prices are very reasonable and guest house is nice .If you like the outdoors and good people this is the place. Lot of cool nature around there. Also very close to French Lick!! And I can't wait to see what's new when I come back next time . Thanks Scott and staff and Lost River .

The Lost River Hotel is an oasis in Indiana. If you are a traveler looking for like minded individuals, you cannot find a better place to stay.

currently working here helping build the guest house.Chickens,garden & pond is very delightful. Indoor living area is very clean.
