Lotusrain Naturopathic Clinic

I have been seeing Dr. Hilewitz for over a year now and she is the ONLY Doctor who actually LISTENS and CARES!!! She is truly a Godsend! I have been sick on and off for 18 years; with the last 3 years being some of the worst. She spends a great deal of time with me to ensure that we go over every symptom, each test result and explains every treatment (supplements, IV's, saunas, diet, acupuncture, physical therapy, etc.). She looks at my body and mind as a whole instead of specialists who only look at one particular part of my body and don't look at me in my entirety or my GP who only wants to see me if I have a cold or a flu. Together we have finally pieced together each component of why I am so sick. It hasn't been an easy or quick road and to be honest she tells me things that I don't want to hear like avoid sugar, gluten, dairy, etc. or do a candida cleanse (food has always been my biggest struggle on the journey to health) but she knows that all "autoimmunity" starts in the gut so she started there and is healing me from the inside out. She takes me seriously and doesn't get a bruised ego when I bring information or research on a certain diagnosis or symptom. She is insanely smart but also open minded! She pulls from her vast knowledge and couples that with my requests, abilities and budget to come up with a customized NATURAL treatment plan just for me. She always goes above and beyond and is the one of the most kind-hearted people I have ever met. I am beyond grateful for finding her and I refer all of my friends to her. She is the BEST Doctor I have EVER seen and that is saying a lot considering all of the Doctors I've seen all over the country in the last 18 years. I also REALLY enjoy the office staff. Fernando is very calming and nurturing. He helps with the sauna, IV's and shots and is just so pleasant to be around. Tina and Liz are on it with emails and they make it very easy to schedule and they are always friendly when I'm there.

Tried to schedule an appointment for a Groupon I purchased and they are booked for over two weeks. I let the lady no that i am looking to use them a lot if there can be any other alternatives since they do have appointments.. but got no sound back she just said yeah no well call back... WHAT A WASTE OF MY TIME. I hope they are really good and this person on the phone is just NOT GOOD at customer service... Just bought a package of 3 at The Chateau super nice and accommodating, I also purchase a package from Groupon for them as well. I will be returning the other didn't feel very positive feeling after talking to the receptionist.

A friend told me about Lotusrain naturopathic clinic - he is a serious road cyclist like me and lets just say we are "over 50" ha ha. My regular primary doc doesn't listen to me at all and just wants to prescribe drugs and send me on my way. I hate taking meds that just mask a problem. I take very good care of my body and I finally found a doc Dr. Reese that takes the time to really listen and get to the root of whatever is going on with me. The short version - I learned to change my diet and because of my age using specific supplements have made me me feel more energized in general plus I have also noticed a improvement in my cycling endurance. The team at Lotusrain clinic is super professional but more important I don't feel like I'm just another number to them. If your doc doesn't have the time to listen to you maybe you should do what I did and find a doc that will.

Went into clinic for tinnitus (constant ringing in the ear). At first meeting was offered garlic oil in the ear which I believe helped. That was the free consultation. I had thought a MRI would be a good place to start and so did the Dr. On the first actual paid Dr. visit, after the MRI, I was asked what seemed like many dozens of obscure questions. Then the conclusions from the MRI was I was fine for the most part minus a build up of mucous (impacted) in my septum. The name of the Dr. was Dr. Hilwitz and she was concerned about my voice. She said it was an obvious indicator that I still was having excessive mucous problems currently. I have had life long allergies which I have learned to deal with. Life is especially well after I started juicing veggies in the last decade. I manage well considering what my teen years and early adulthood was like. So I was prescribed Ortho-Biotics (probiotics), glutamine and a regimented diet free of most refined grains, refined sugars, bananas and dairy. Only after I was sold these supplements at a premium price I had noticed behind the checking counter one can see MANY shelves of supplements, medicines and packages with high grade pills and powders. After the first day I felt ill. It was obviously the probiotics. That very night I did not sleep as my stomach felt as if it would explode. I had emailed the Dr. correspondence before and just wanted clarification on her diagnosis. As well I wanted to let her know I stopped taking the pills and powders. She said fine but I need to keep taking them. The end of our last phone conversation Dr Hilwitz told me this cleanse (first time I heard her say the word cleanse) is going to get much worse before it gets better. Never an answer about how I was diagnosed or why that prescription. Eventually I was refereed to a lead Dr. who would only speak to me over the phone. I always choose to communicate via email for reference and accountability. This was not an option at this point that the office made clear. As best she could she tried to explain Leaky Bowel Syndrome. I could not get an answer as to what convinced her that my tinnitus was due to Leaky Bowel Syndrome. She said the majority of the diagnosis at her clinic is this LBS. I could I get any straight answers. When I asked if I am not eating dairy why did the probiotics I was prescribed only feed off of dairy? I was floored after this conversation. I felt like a sucker who was robbed by a snake oil selling con-artist. I could not get an answer to even how she knew I had leaky bowel without testing my poo. She said we could get a test but it was not needed. I had spent many hundreds of dollars at this point (over $1,500 actually at that point) and she was trying to be considerate. Yep she she said that. Please forgive my long post. There are many more details I will not waste more time on. I just want to let you know what I experienced as a consideration. I was taken. Do not let it happen to you. Yes I still have the ringing in my ear. I am doing much better just dealing with it. Bringing my stress down helps most. In order to help keep my stress down I avoiding folks who take no regard for what they do and how it effects others.

I find Dr. Reese to be a very skilled practitioner who is very carrying and in touch with her patients. Her focus is on her patients health and well-being while be personal and very approachable. Highly recommend her.
