Good prices and good food, the ginger fried chicken was good, also the curry chicken was really good, the pineapple fried rice was not good, didn’t like it. Good location
Love this place! Good fresh food, great coffee, reasonable affordable prices, super chill vibe. One of my solid top favorite places. Avoid on weekends.
A fav NYC spot. The food and cocktails are delicious. The restaurant itself whether you are upstairs or down in the cellar is very inviting. If you haven't, you should definitely go....and try the pork and shitake spring rolls, Pad Thai, or Salmon over green curry. Food: 5/5
It’s a horrible place and horrible service. The food is so bad and the server was like a zombie. The japanese food tasted like Thai food and they messed up our order. The place was so empty, yet they take forever to do everything. They are just chit-chatting by the counter. This place is cash only or Amex, but we weren’t aware until the bill came. We should have been made aware beforehand. Also this review is coming for someone who’s worked as a server.
Disgusting. Smells like urine. Toilet had feces in it. Food was undercooked. Staff was rude, aloof. Trash on the floor. Absolutely would not recommend. Over hyped and there’s so many other players to eat. Bummer.
Love eating outside here in the summer for the drinks and atmosphere. Feel like the quality has declined somewhat since the last time I visited, at least for the lunch menu.
Great food! The curry was delicious. Great price and location as well! The waiter wasn’t so great as the food tho. Kinda cold toward us, but maybe because the place was busy to keep up with. Just would have preferred a warmer service! Absolutely to go!
I went to this restaurant a few times and walked by it almost every day. The food is great!. One day when it was closed I walked by it, and I saw the metal gates covered in graffiti and thought it looked uniquely New York. This location at 196 Elizabeth is great character for the neighborhood. I painted a portrait of this place in my series of 'Disappearing New York', which you can see on my website, wwwdotkovalfineartdotcom.
This is the worst restaurant ever. I've never left bad reviews or give little tip to restaurants, but this is beyond bad. We got seated outside kinda far from the restaurant on the streets before sunset and waited so long to receive our two dishes it's already dark outside at this point, waited over an hour. larger groups came after us got their food and finished way earlier than us. At first, we thought the food was okay but the decor was pretty interesting, we were having a good time. However, the shrimps in the fried rice tasted like nothing. The tuna rolls tasted weird with the sauce. Food was not that cheap. Extremely bad service and they don't accept credit cards so we decided to give small tips with our limited cash. It would've been better if the waiter asked us about our concerns when we left that tip, or tell us there is an ATM in the restaurant. we would've tipped a little more in cash. Instead, the waiter chose to shout at us :"don't come to a restaurant if you don't have money." It was so bad, It ruined our day. There's literally no point to tip more at this point with that kind of service. Avoid this place, had to go home with such a mood and felt extremely guilty.
The food is amazing. I had the shrimp pad Thai and some of the friends had the todo curry, which they said was spicy and delicious. There are plates for sharing or you can get your own dish. We sat upstairs with a group of 7 so it was a bit too cramped, which is why I’m not giving it 5 stars. I’ve heard the downstairs is bigger, but it was booked 2 weeks out when we made our reservation. It’s also a great price. I will go back again for sure, just not with a bigger crowd.
