I ordered Somen, and I think it’s not traditional Thai looks more like Fusion but it was very nicely cooked. I did like the taste a lot, and they are indeed small plates - I wished the portion could be bigger it’s about 1/3 the typical American size - hence it could end up a bit pricey. But the taste is worth a try. Had Thai iced tea too! Small cozy restaurant.
Lui's has amazing food. I went to the restaurant many times before the coronavirus lockdown and enjoyed BYOB dinners there with friends. The food is incredible, great quality, and for a great price. I love the drunken salmon, papaya salad, curry, cashew chicken, and Thai iced tea. Very consistent. Never had a bad menu item. So happy they opened for takeout and delivery and can't wait to return to dine inside once regulations allow!!!
Great little hole in the wall spot. I was craving some red curry beef which wasn't on the menu but they happily made it for me!
Wow wow wow, a true hidden gem of a restaurant. I can't begin to tell you how amazing this Thai place is and how flavorful and cheap this food is as well! The owner is an older lady who is so sweet and she makes all of the meals. I had the drunken noodles with chicken and it came out to only $12! I highly recommend this place and will definitely be back.
Love the Thai food at Lui’s and it has became one of my favorites Thai restaurants. The other is Pure Thai, which has been around much longer. Small space offering 7-8 sets of tables but have never needed to wait the waiting time at Pure Thai always frustrates me. Have tried 5-6 different dishes and are all excellent! Love the Drunken Salmon slightly pan fried salmon and the drunken noodle. Love the special Fried Branzino a recent chief special. Check it out! Not too much though, otherwise I will be very frustrate if this place start to needs to wait for 30+ mins, lol
They're food didn't tastes like thai food that I have ever had,it tasted more like Chinese. The lobster and sweet and sour sauce was watered down, and the rice and chicken lo mein was bland .The only food that was decent was the beef teriyaki ,chicken wings and chicken fingers.
Better than many places in Thailand. Very cute family business with a much-loved BYOB policy. Green curry here is my favorite in the city.
I may be biased because the owner is my best friend's aunt, but oh my the food is soooo good. My girlfriend didn't stop talking about how good the food was the rest of our trip to NYC and she's worked at James Beard award winning restaurants
So yummy!! Vegetable soup with entree was a wonderful. Had the Shrimp And scallop pang curry that was perfect! Will be back soon. :
Love the food here. It’s our favorite in East village. Have to try the crispy duck. Awesome prices and byob!
