The studio and gallery of M.Sani located in the heart of the French Quarter on Royal Street selling original and unique jazz inspired paintings and prints.
Born in Cameroon, artist M.Sani captured the essence of New orleans with his paintings into the heart of the French Quarter. In 2000, Sani was selected as the official artist of the Festival International de Lousiane and has since shown his work nationally and internationally. In 2005, Sani opened his gallery, showcasing original paintings and mixed media pieces as well as limited edition artist prints.
His paintings evoke the spirit of Jazz in New Orleans, employing an experimental use of palette knife in his own bold, abstracted style. His vibrant use of color evokes African culture with the influence of Jazz in the Deep South.
His rich culture and people serve as subjects to his work. Some major themes are the spiritual influence of religions, tribal ceremonies, and music. At home he was known as the "lord of the dance” and it is evident that he still is by his paintings of jazz musicians.
