MacKenzie River Pizza, Grill & Pub

I would: Most definitely try this restaurant at least once A surprisingly fun restaurant that had a booth for me during peak dinner hours. The food was well crafted and presented. $9.75 for this veggie burger was a bit much in my opinion, even as good tasting as it was. It seemed to have a bit too much bun around it. Compare to Cheddar's $10.79 1/3 pound real burger with fries. I prefer pizza at a more genuine pizzeria, but theirs looked reasonable. Very good service delivered a quick gettaway check when I was ready to fly and never missed a beat before.

I took my granddaughter to lunch for her birthday. She liked the chicken strips with ranch dip. A very friendly staff. We received a free dessert for her birthday. Delicious, larger enough to share.

Service was horrible. We are pretty sure that our server gave my used drink glass to someone else's table. I asked for a refill and never received my glass back, when we flagged down our server and asked about my drink, he said, "Oh Jesus, did I give your drink to another table? Sorry about that" and disappeared again. When it came time to leave, we asked for to-go boxes and instead of receiving boxes, our server took our plates in back and came back with our food in boxes. We believe that he more than likely touched our food with his bare hands. Some of the food was hand-picked from the plate and wasn't put in the box. His heart was in the right place but a very, VERY unsanitary restaurant. Would not recommend for anyone that does not like their food being handled by bare, unwashed hands.

They were on a 15 minute wait when we got there and when we got sat it was in a table crammed between 2 large party’s where our own conversation was drowned out by theirs, which wasn’t really anyone’s fault, we requested a spot for 2 and they sat us with just enough place for 2, took about 10 minutes to get the beers we ordered which again we were patient with, it’s date night, the restaurant was clearly busy the server was fairly polite about it. The issue I had was when we got our pizza it was disgustingly greasy, it’s pizza of course it’s going to be a little greasy, but so much so that we had to eat it up to the crust with a fork and knife because it was impossible to eat it otherwise, didn’t see our server or manager until we were finished. We took the rest of it home but threw it away this morning because we both got sick the night before. I’m not going to flat out say it was the grease that made out stomachs upset...but it will be awhile before their pizza regurgitated leaves my memory when thinking of a nice place for dinner.

Not much food selection for me personally. Have had lots better. Maybe too picky. Others in party enjoyed their meals.
