Recently my Wife and I had the pleasure of dining here, the food was excellent we had the chittlings, that were prepared perfectly as was all the side dishes. The homemade cake was great. We were very impressed with the staff as well, will be back.
After much hype I had to test out this Frayser soul food staple. Only open Friday - Sunday means the lines for lunch are long. Call ahead to find out what the menu is. Yes they take credit cards. I took lunch to go as it was crowded and the weather outside was nicer than inside. I dove headfirst into saying the phase, "I'll have the Ox Tail please" for the first time in my life. I wasn't disappointed as the portions are huge and easily shared / kept for leftovers another meal, not the HBO show. The only hesitation I have is that my meal cost $18 including drink with Ox Tail, sides of Yams and Greens and red punch. All in all I will go back but the price will keep me honest to not indulge too often.
I positively absolutely love this place!!! The food is delicious, but what makes things so much better is the quality of service you receive. I'm definitely a repeat customer......weekly!
The lasagna is PERFECT per usual, but the greens were super firm undercooked could almost put them in a salad instead. Mac and cheese not cheesy at all today. Candy yams were delicious and the line moved a lot quicker than usual
I love it here! The food is ALWAYS great and everyone is always kind. The vibe there almost makes you feel like back in the days as a little kid eating Grandma's Sunday dinner.
I love Madea’s, I feel like I’m at Grandma’s house. The fried catfish is my favorite, seasoned to perfection. We miss you I wish they were still open.
Phoned in my order earlier today. Glad I did as there was a line when I got there. The food was great and the staff, although harried by customers, were attentive and polite. Will make return visits for sure!!
Travel all the way from Cordova to receive a small portion and to be charged at regular price. I purchase two orders of chitterlings and a side of cabbage and the total came out to be $28. My card was charged before I knew how small the portion was going to be. I try to support black own business but NEVER AGAIN will I go to this place.
The beans were undercooked and day textured the porksteak was tuff the desert and drink was great. I expected better for trying to finding come on now Ma dea's maybe I'll try next May in Memphis
Wonderful food. To me the mark of good food is the meat complements the veggies or you can do without the meat and still have a treat. They put foot in it.
