Story

Madison Station Antiques is located at 110 Main Street which is the oldest commercial building in Madison's Historical Downtown district. The store was built in 1857 and was owned by Mr. George Washington Martin. Later the building housed one of two saloons in Madison and was operated by Mr. Hardage. Years later, Mr. Robert Parham Cain bought the building and opened a grocery store. His son, Robert Earl Cain, continued in the mercantile business for many years.

My first visit was a lot of fun. They have tons of nice antiques and looking around, I was able to find tools and old fishing poles that were very interesting. I will definitely return to shop.

Sadly, this is a one star. We drove a ways to stop in, and the store was closed at 3pm. The sign outside listed a Saturday closing time as 4pm.

I have never in my life had a more awful experience. First, the lady at the counter accused me of changing the price on $3.00 trinket. When I asked her about why she would have accused my of such a thing, she proceeded to tell me that she would not be selling me the item for $3.00 and that I should leave the store. I have no idea what was going on in her head- I have been buying antiques for over 20 years. Not to mention, I own 4 of the items that I was trying to purchase from this store- all of which I had only paid $1.50 for. I was totally willing to pay the $3 that this item was marked. I cannot believe this happened!!! I would never do such a thing nor would I risk my reputation over $3.00. So for those of you who choose to shop here, BEWARE!!!!
