Maitripa College, located in Portland, Oregon, is the first Tibetan Buddhist College in the Pacific Northwest, and was host to H.H. the 14th Dalai Lama's visit in May 2013.
Maitripa offers two degree programs - an M.A. in Buddhist Studies; and a 72 credit Master of Divinity (MDiv) degree. Maitripa also has a robust continuing education program for non-degree students onsite in Portland. Additionally, Maitripa College offers academic symposiums, lectures & workshops with visiting scholars and teachers, retreats, weekly public dharma teachings, community meditation and the observance of traditional Tibetan Buddhist practices.
Rooted in a lineage of Tibetan Buddhist practice from its founder and president, Yangsi Rinpoche, the college is officially non-sectarian and welcoming to students of all backgrounds.
