The meat is really well-cooked and if you ask, you can get Qabuli Pilao buttery rice cooked with raisins and carrots. It's super bare bones and I wouldn't get a salad, but it's one of the best values around.
Unique and good service here delicious fresh ingredients good selection and good value
For a hole in the wall this place is pretty good. We ordered the vegetable plate and it was okay- nothing to write home about. On the down size, the place is very small, probably better for take out and not super clean. I love Afghan food and was expecting more but it was decent.
Have passed these place for years and finally tried, this food is superb. Perfectly grilled. 4 stars because too much dressing on salad and a little pricier than expected. Still great service and delicious taste. Definitely going again.
One of the best new places in the neighborhood. Everything on the menu is incredible and the staff is really sweet. My partner and I fell in love with their Baltimore location, and we were so excited they opened this place down the street from us. Go here for any meal, any time, and you will not be disappointed.
Some of the best food in DC are operated by families. This is one of those news gems in town that provide unbelievable genuine foods and service. The care and love you can taste with each bite of whatever it is you will be tasting on their menu. Try the rice pudding, it will be the best you've ever had. Support the family owned small businesses, keep the community alive!
Went in late during their closing time expecting some okayish tolerable lamb kebabs, but what a surprise. Honestly, one of the best lamb kebabs I've eaten in DC. Usually Kebabs are too tough or taste off a bit. It was great all around.
This is me being extremely honest. It was my first time eating here and at first glance I was very hesitant to follow my friends inside or order anything but i took a chance and I've got to say everything that was brought to my table was absolutely delicious and there was not one thing on my plate I did not enjoy. Don't judge a first glance you'll lose an opportunity to enjoy something new.
Maiwand Grill: A Book Cover Don't judge this small, clean lunch spot by its facade! Stop in and try their delicious Afghan fare , which includes kabobs, vegetarian options, and much more. I had the chicken kabob, it came with a large, naan-like bread, salad, rice, and a delicious sauce. The flavors were unique and harmonious, and the dishes come in generous helpings. As a complete Afghan noob, I was overjoyed to find such a delicious, cheap place with exquisite food. I will definitely be returning and bringing my friends!!! @kwavooo
Just ate a mixed grill with lamb/chicken and it was delicious. Maiwand's food is colorful and fresh, definitely some of the best takeout in Adams Morgan.
