The mussels were yummy but the chicken marsala could have used a bit more flavor. The chocolate cake was okay. Also wish they had more than one restroom. Kind of awkward waiting in line next to people that are dining.Food: 3/5
I have no idea how it’s rated over 4 stars. This was by far the most boring and bland Italian food I’ve ever tasted. The two stars are really only because the service was good and so was the wine. The photos may look okay, but the food is very displeasing.
What a great discovery. Was in NYC and need a spot for pre-theater dinner with my Niece. Mama Mia was a short walk from the parking garage and and even closer to the theater. I ordered the Aperol Spritz. It was perfectly made. Our meal consisted of a side of Meatballs. Perfect Grandma Style Meatballs. Crispy outside, moist and full of flavor inside. Smothered in the house Marinara. Samantha had Basil Pesto with Chicken and Sundried Tomatos. She cleaned the plate and it was a huge portion. She really loved it. I had one of the best Eggplant Parmasean dinners ever. Thin layers of creamy....almost meaty Eggplant stacked high. Smothered with delicious Grandma style sauce and perfectly finished with cheese. Not fancy. Attentive staff and service. Here it's all about the food. Generous portions, served hot and full of slow cooked flavor. All that with fair prices for the quality of the food this is a solid neighborhood spot. Mama Mia has been in business for 51 years. They're clearly getting the food right. Wheelchair accessibility: The front entrance can accommodate a wheelchair as would the dining room. The bathroom access may be an issue.
The food was fine, but the cocktail was ughh I didn’t like it at all and my money was wasted unfortunately. Well blame it on the the guy who suggested it was good, totally opposite. So reconsider before ordering the drink LOLDine in: YesOutdoor seating: YesTakeout: YesDelivery: Yes
Great pasta with filling proportions and in a great location. Would recommend if you are in the area. Not to mention the past comes out freshly made every time I have been here.
I came here on a whim after trekking towards hell's kitchen from 12 ave. I chose to dine here because of it's proximity to port authority and it isn't nestled in a part of hell's kitchen where it was too hectic. We chose to sit in the covered outdoor dining area which had nice views from the street level of course of the midtown skyscrapers and where you can clearly hear each honk that makes up the cacophonous NYC rush hour traffic orchestra. Then menu was pretty extensive but what was nice is that it had a section that marked off the most popular dishes. I got the vongoli di napoli, penne pesto and the meatballs. Overall take away was that the food was palatable, i did wish that they were served hotter. The vongoli di napoli was just very slightly warm when we ate it. We had to request a basket of complimentary bread to mop up our sauce. The bread itself was nothing to rave about, maybe it was even a bit stale. But it did the job of picking up leftover sauce. I left dinner thinking that there are plenty of other places in hell's kitchen to checkout, so it might be a while before I return.
Food was OK, I am a big believer on presentation and this restaurant did not have any creativity on their dishes.Service can also improve. The restaurant was not busy and the waiter never came back to check on us if we needed anything, also I went there out of convenience to watch a Broadway show, and other places in the area offer prefix menu; this one did not, which led me to rush my order, cause I was told to order it Asap.
We had fried mozzarella and a margarita pizza. These items were excellent. We also had dessert and enjoy the cheesecake and the lemon sorbet. The atmosphere was very pleasant, and we enjoyed our meal.
Food was very good and generous. The employees are nice but the service was slow we waited for 15 minutes before we got our dish. 20% gratuity + additional tips are abused. Don’t sure I’ll go back again because of that, too bad…
Really cute place with awesome atmosphere located in Hell's Kitchen! Food was great! Highly recommend.!
