I had my very first slice of NYC pizza. And by a recommendation from a local resident, I came to Mama Rosa's. Well, I wasn't disappointed! I only had one slice, and, with nothing else to compare it to, it was delicious. A small, quaint place, friendly staff and available, albeit limited, seating. A short 5 minute walk from the Roosevelt subway staion. It's worth the trip.
First time here and I ordered a personal pie they cut into 6 slices or 4 if u choose, got mine with extra cheese and pepperoni , the crust was flakey the cheese was o-so-good super fresh melty cheese all around a solid business, paid 17 for this so it’s not extremely expensive but up there. Id recommend this to the community the staff was friendly and attentive , mainly Spanish speaking folks here but they seem like good working ppl, the place was clean and had tons of other options to choose from even beef patty’s lol I read another reviewer saying they don’t have but I definitely see them , nyc less go
Worst pizza I ever had, not worth it at all. Walked in had two regular slices, none of them had tomatoe sauce. Both of them were slim, tasted like cardboard with cheese. Avoid this spot if you can. Not the pizza it used to be. A dollar slice place will try more than this place. What has happened to this place.
The cheese pizza was very tasty, thin crust the way I like it. The pepperoni pin wheel was also very good not greasy. The arugula prosciutto pizza wasn’t good. The meat was in chunks and was very chewy. but the owner was so nice and she apologized returning the money. UPDATE Went back a week later and got the arugula prosciutto pizza and it was devine. I tried white cheese and pepperoni also and it was really good. Met the owner and she is so nice.
They used to have portobello mushrooms for topping, but then they removed it and replace it with canned mushrooms that taste like chemical. It was not the best and smartest decision. The sauce was overflowing and inconsistent both in flavor and portions.
We decided to try this place in our neighborhood Big mistake! The pizza was cold , no flavor and they delivered the wrong order. I called back to ask to change to the correct order spoke to three different people all asking the same “did you order online” no we clearly spoke over the phone to order. Asked if we still had the wrong order. Of course we did. They asked for it back not a problem I asked multiple times in shocked if they are going to resell the slices back because she was adamant about getting the slices back! I hope they didn’t resell it!! Better pizza and customer service in the neighborhood! Try pizza Sam on northern and pizza boy on 37th even famous pizza! Definitely do not recommend this place !
Ordered a Sicilian pizza. Pizza was half the size it is normally and cost more. I called the girl told me that it has always has been that size and could not help me because she JUST WORKS THERE. What they did not tell me is that they are the new owners and have only had the pkace 3 weeks. Prices up. Food bad. Staff lies.
