Very relaxing. Short, easy walk, places to stop and sit if needed. Nice boardwalk on the water to view wildlife in the water. Unfortunately, dogs are allowed on this trail. Enjoy your walk.
I've taken lots of nature pictures here, and even senior pictures for a coworkers daughter, and this location will always be one of my favorites for photographyVisited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entryFree
You don't have to leave the city to find a country getaway. A nice variety of trails and a boardwalk across the pond to get up close with nature. The low lying shaded areas will require bug spray. The trails are not that long so it is a good place to bring younger children. Trails are not paved so if you bring a stroller make sure it's sturdy. Lots of benches along the trail to rest and take in the scenery. Bring a camera because there's lots to take in.
Quiet, beautiful little piece of nature tucked away in Maplewood. So sad to hear that the building itself is closed and will no longer be staffed due to financial struggles but the trail is still a nice walk. Fun little kids area and the boardwalk across the pond is nice too. Wish I could bring my dog along but understand why I can't. I do recommend locking the car and not leaving valuables inside when walking as the parking lot is very secluded.
Trail was a nice walk with views of the water. Stroller friendly, but bumpy and narrow. Big long bridge that is stable. Nature center has a variety of things for kids to play and see. We loved the outdoor area especially the tepee sticks.
I'm not too sure of what programs are hosted here but it's a nice park with lots of wildflowers, well cared for, educational content inside for all ages and plenty of animals around Playground: Creative nature-themed play area for children Restrooms: Has open restrooms and drinking fountain inside the building Dog-friendliness: No pets allowed iirc
We went to the nature center to take a walk and get some fresh air. We were planning to take our dog for a walk, but the sign at the entrance said dogs were not allowed. It was a cool cloudy day, so we left our dog in the car and enjoyed the one mile loop around the wetlands, that included a walk across a floating bridge. We saw mallards, wood ducks and Canada geese. It was early spring, so trees still did not have leaves, and many bird species still had not returned from their winter nesting areas.
Beautiful walk around a small lake. Saw a Heron and a family of wood ducks.
Nice little nature park with boardwalk.across the pond. Lots of wildlife. The center offers really cool activities for families too!Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entryFree
We have been several times, in all weather condition and it’s always a wonderful experience. It’s conveniently located and plenty of parking on all sides. I have noticed though that in the warmer temps a lot of teenagers hang out in on the trails and smoke-and they act like you’re in the way when you’re trying to walk the trails....it’s kind of annoying
