The casino is a bit slow during the week. The slots were pretty tight, but allowed you to play for a while without losing too much too fast. Some machines were down and not functioning, but nothing crazy. The atmosphere was quiet and the patrons were mostly older with some youth sprinkled in. The rooms had good rates and were clean obviously if you look for tiny things to be dirty you may find a dust spot here and there or a mark but the overwhelming majority of the room was very clean. Not sure what all the complaint is about on some of the other reviews. Staff was very nice. Sam at check in was great. Justin was very nice as well. Some of the staff was very engaging and talkative, some were just moping about during their respective jobs. The Cafe food was decent, nothing special. I suggest changing out the ranch dressing, which was disgusting. The Cafe staff could be more perky, nobody likes a sour face when you are in a service position. Other food option/places were closed.
Fun! Friendly staff! The French restaurant was delicious! The rooms were decent. Could be a little cleaner, but overall not bad. The house keepers were really friendly. The front desk person Bridgette was so nice and helpful. The races were super fun to watch!
I have stayed here yearly during Christmas when visiting family. This will be my last year staying here due to poor service and lack of amenities. The hotel no longer offers housekeeping services unless requested, this includes towels. If you want fresh towels, you have to pick them up at the front desk. They hotel has removed all microwaves and mini fridges from rooms, so there is no where to store and heat a semi healthy breakfast. The "gourmet complimentary breakfast" is nothing more than stale pastries and coffee, open from 7am to 9am. The rooms are showing their age, with grime crusted to the walls and floors, and rust seeping through the paint. The "resort style" hot tub and pool are nonexistent. They closed due to covid, and are now permanently closed. There are only 2 dining options available now, a "fast food bar" or expensive dining at "The French Quarter". The "First Turn" used to offer a happy medium to a $9 burger or $60 steak. The security check point staff is rude and unhelpful. Our whole stay has been one unpleasant experience after another. If the "resort" wants to continue to charge resort prices, bring back the advertised amenities and expected benefits of staying at a nice hotel.
Room was clean and comfortable. Due some updating and replacement of worn/stained carpeting and furniture. It is definitely priced right for the condition. No breakfast buffet as advertised but I expected that per recent reviews. My stay was on a weekday so not sure if that changes for weekends. Casio was in line with what can be expected gaming wise. It was clean and had a variety of machines as well as a few open tables. Again, restaurants and such were limited due to being early week.
Hotel clean with professional and friendly staff. Room was clean, not overly fancy but good room for price. I would say it would have been nice to have a coffee maker in the room, but not the end of the world. Casino, clean, no smoke, plenty of open machines and table games. Slots are tight, but still came out ahead. A little disappointed that the only open place to eat was the Cafe. I'm guessing this is because just like everyone else it's hard to find enough staff to run them all. If you want a Las Vegas style Resort, then you will be disappointed. If you're looking for some low key Casino for a night or two this will fit the bill. All in all satisfied with our stay.
The rooms was ok comfortable and met our needs. Beware the breakfast buffet is hot and cold cereal, coffee and muffins no buffet. Casino it’s been awhile since we’ve been here and it’s the same the machines are TIGHT, I was telling my wife we should go to the cashier cage and just give them our 300.00. Won’t be coming back anytime soonRooms: 3/5
I always stop here as I'm driving through West Virginia to have a rest from my long drive. This place is full of penny slots. I never stay longer than 20 minutes but that's enough time stretch my legs and walk around a bit, and enjoy a fun atmosphere. I highly recommend it.
What a steal of a deal to stay at a “4” star hotel! Or so I thought. Instead, I will rate my stay the same as what the hotel should be rated: only 2 stars. The entrance is grand enough to make me think I was in for a treat of a stay. However, once I entered my room, reality set in. No fridge. No microwave. Large stains on the carpet. Water took a long time to heat up. Very bare bones appearance to the whole room. Combine that with the breakfast being only about half the time most other places offer 7-9am according to a sign, wasn’t actually mentioned at check in and it equates to just a mediocre stay all around. Far from the 4 star resort that was advertised.
This casino has an excellent rewards system for Freeplay and Casino cash to be used towards food and goods. They are pretty good about getting the newest and updated slots. And there are lots of ots to choose from. There is even a high limits room here and several table games as well. There are three restaurants at this location. Food is delicious. The staff is always friendly and ready to help as needed. My husband and I always have a great time!
I had to switch rooms 3 times due to issues. The water went out twice and when they turned it back on it was nasty. I wasn’t able to shower before my flight. The rooms are dated and not modern. I guess you pay for what you get. Definitely should not be considered a 4 star hotel. It maybe could be considered a 3 star.Rooms: 2/5
