I love this place. It's always so clean and comfortable. The staff are so personable. The layout of this place is so nice. I stay here when I have to take USCG exams. It's a nice place to be able to cram some studying in. They have rules here that I think make the place better. No drinking alcohol and all food is consumed in the dinning area I really think this keeps the place clean and quiet The location is great, especially if you don't have a car. If you do have a car, welcome to Boston and good luck!
Mariners House is a 23 bed rooming house for seamen. To qualify you need to have 20 years of service to the Navy, Merchant Marines, Coast Guard. Or be the guest of s9 wine who qualifies who also needs to be staying at the hotel. In the heart of the North End, right next to Paul Reveres Home which is the oldest standing house in Boston, this hotel is surrounded by tourist attractions and amazing food and restaurants. If you qualify, the rooms are small, the common areas are co for table, breakfast is individualized, and the service amazing. Only complaint is that the water pressure wasn’t great and the hot water waned at times.
Exclusivity has it's benefits, even small as it is, the Mariners House is a warm, friendly, family-feel haven for seafarers and their families and it is always a pleasure to visit and stay here.Rooms: 4/5
If you meet the stringent requirements to stay here, it's a fantastic place. Small, but comfortable rooms. A courtyard, two large, sitting rooms. A nice balcony overlooking the courtyard. But the location is the star. In the heart of North End.Rooms: 4/5
We love Mariners House! Can’t ask for a better location, right in the North End. Amazing complimentary breakfast. Clean, well kept, beautiful historic site. Great little courtyard.
Great value, polite staff, and phenomenal location! I stayed here while taking my license exam, and the REC was only a ten minute walk away. A full bed room ran me only $65 per night, and the made-to-order breakfast was complimentary.
What a great benefit for Maritime Service Veterans! Thank you for supporting the maritime serves. The location of the Mariners House is awesome. I love North End Boston and all the amazing restaurants all within a walk from the house. I hope to return soon.
An incredible hotel to stay in if you are a mariner. Breakfast is made to order and the rooms are very well priced compared to any other hotel. almost any type of food within a 4 minute walk if you want to sit in a restaurant or stop by a grocery store. The REC is a 5 minute walk north, so there is no chance of being late for any USCG exam.
Great stay. Third time here and still telling everyone how wonderful it is with only marines and afloat Military there. Willy is a great chef and supper friendly. All the staff is nice and helpful. Will return.
Still here but the a/c is out. Cannot beat the price for location and history. Staff is great and the cook in the galley is very accommodating and friendly. Thank you Mariners House for supporting Sailors all these years. Also, everyone sitting at the restaurant across the street is jealous of this little hot spot.
