My experience with Dr. Alwan was amazing. He answered every question I had honestly. I had uterine fibroids that he removed. My incision looks amazing. The staff was great. Everyone was very friendly and nice. Would recommend Dr. Alwan to everyone I know
Always respectful and caring! Dr. Alwan and his staff have taken care of me through two deliveries and over 18 years, and I would recommend them to anyone who asks. He is always patient, kind and considerate of both mine and my husband's feelings. Most times I am in and out of the office for my appointments, but I do try to give the staff some grace because I understand that emergencies are unexpected and having your OB/Gyn there taking his time to care for you is what we're all looking for.
AWESOME STAFF. I WOULDN'T GO ANYWHERE ELSE. THIS IS NOT MY PRIMARY CARE DOCTOR BUT THEY HELPED ME TO GET THE TESTING AND REFERRALS I NEEDED TO DIAGNOSE COLON CANCER WHCH WAS ULTIMATELY SUCCESSFUL TREATED. VERY HELPFUL AND THEY CARE ABOUT YOUR OVERALL HEALTH
UPDATE: I was contacted by the owner and they will be speaking to Dr. Garibaldi about this incident. I am glad to hear that they took the review seriously and are taking action against this. I want to reiterate that my problem is not with Dr. Alwan at all - he is a good provider. It is just Dr. Garibaldi, who is newly working at this clinic. There is a obstetrician-gynecologist working here named Dr. Carlo Garibaldi. I do NOT recommend seeing him. My mother went to see him a few weeks ago as she was experiencing inconsistent periods. They did an ultrasound and pap smear to make sure that everything was okay, and they found out she had fibroids. The ultrasound and pap smear were not done by Dr. Garibaldi and my mom was comfortable up to this point. However, she spoke with him about the results, and he was very unclear and unprofessional, suggested that she get a hysterectomy and when my mother asked for other options, he basically told her that there were no other treatments for her, and she had to get a hysterectomy. She was uncomfortable with this and did not go through and he ordered an endometrial biopsy. She should’ve stopped then because we have no idea why he ordered this biopsy after he told her that there was no way the fibroids were cancerous. He did not numb the area and performed an incredibly painful biopsy; my mother could not walk for over a week, and she is still having trouble standing for long periods of time. It was a very traumatic experience for her and Dr. Garibaldi is a very insensitive doctor, I have no idea how they are still letting him practice medicine when he absolutely very clearly does not care for his patients. It seemed like all they wanted to do was charge her insurance for the procedures. I am writing to share this experience so other women do not suffer the same consequences – please find another gynecologist. It is sad that there are people in this profession that obviously don’t care about women’s health and wellbeing.
I am completely disgusted by his lack of professionalism. This is my first pregnancy, I went to him because I was really early and I started to bleed. I was nervous of miscarriage. As soon as I got into the room he greeted himself, and then I started explaining my concerns such as bleeding, cramping, etc. He then started explaining that I need to stop worrying about it, and that I can't tell him how to do his job. Like what??? When did I tell you to do your job? The ER told me to get my hormone levels checked from blood 24hrs after, and that's what I told him. He was very disrespectful. He then went on to do the exam and without warning or ANYTHING. He shoved his hand to examine my area and it was LITERAL pain. Like I've never been so uncomfortable with anyone ever. That was my first and last visit. Never again. I switched doctors immediately. Disgusting.
Dr. Alwan is the best gynecologist around.. by far. He has taken such great care of me and my body. He is very compactionate, and explains everything in such great detail that you always have a great understanding of what is going on. I would suggest him to anyone, and have.
Dr. Alwan delivered my baby girl in 2015 via c-section. My pregnancy was high risk and Dr. Alwan was AMAZING. He along with his entire staff at the Upland and Rancho offices are always pleasant to see. Yes, at times the wait time can be long or he's not in the office due to medical emergencies for other patients but this translates into excellent patient care and bed side manner. Something all of us can appreciate. Dr. Alwan never rushes and takes the time to listen to you. He listens so much that he offers options thay are reasonable and ensure a better quality of life. Fast forward now in 2019 I had hysterectomy due to years of pain from endometriosis and fibroids. Dr. Alwan has alleviated my mental and physical anguish. He's absolutely amazing. Thank you Doctor!
Dr. Alwan was great years ago but I agree with others about appointment times being off and his PA in Upland has no regard for patients. I am a working mother of two boys, one with autism. I have to make special arrangements with respite or family, or I have to leave work early when I plan appointments because my son needs constant specialized care. I'm also careful about asking for time off because I have so many appointments for my son. I got a missed call just under three hours prior to my appointment cancelling on me. I figured it was a reminder as no message was left. I showed up and the front desk says the PA decided to go home early. I questioned this thinking there must be some mistake. Again and again I was told that she wanted to go home early. I'm now scrambling trying to figure something out to be seen and have care for my son. No regard for patient needs.
They forgot about me for a month. I was supposed to have my ob check every 2 weeks because I’m on my 8th months pregnant already. The doctor stopped seeing me for a whole month. And I’m about to due. I paid 800 dollars plus insurance, they just easily missed a whole months appointments for me. The doctor sent me to a lab for blood work. They said it should be included in the insurance, but they tried to charge me another 300 dollars for the blood work afterwards. I’m about to due in weeks, and still haven’t seen doctor Alwan. I hope this place can be more responsible with their patients!
