The store is great, the owner is very friendly and he doesn’t deal with riffraff.

Went in to check the place out and purchase some Hi-chew. Recently taking a job a short walking distance away I thought this would be a perfect place to purchase future snacks during work hours. Boy was I wrong. After checking out the store, I went to the register to purchase some Hi-chew. Not seeing the "no debit purchases less than $3" sign I pulled out my card to pay for it. Seeing this he asked "How much profit do you think I make on this?" I guessed 30 cents, he then said "Even with 30 cents profit it's not worth it for me to sell you this" and pointed at the sign. No big deal, I put my card away and flip my wallet over to pull out some cash. To which he says "No, you can't buy this. I don't have change for you and you don't need it anyway" then lightly tossed it down behind the register. Such an odd expiriance, and entirely his loss considering how close I work and how often I purchase snacks. He missed out on years of patronage. If I were you I would avoid this store.

All these negative comments about how you were treated. Haha! Maybe you're an entitled, self-centered, thankless little s#!t whose mommy never told them "no", thinking the world owes you. Ever think of that? If "being kind" means giving you what you demand, you're all of the above. Owner definitely runs the store his way and he's proud of what he's built in this country you all take for granted. I will shop here every time in in DTSLC. Wish the kabobs were open today though.

Shop opening times are variable and most of the time it's even closed in day time. Annoying!

AVOID THIS PLACE! The owner is incredibly condescending and speaks down to customers. He treats customers like they should be honored to even be allowed to try to buy something. He'd charge you for breathing the air inside this place if he could.

I went in there on Tuesday and was denied water and Ice. I even offered to pay for it. They told me they have the right to refuse people. I understand the concept of business, but water and ice. And I had my service dog with me she needed a drink too.What kind of world do we live in!!! Worst place in the salt lake area. I thought people were nice and loved to help.

I really enjoy this store! I've been there before in the past and had good service. I went in again yesterday because it was so hot out and I had 10 minutes to spare before my trax train arrived. Its right across from the Galavan stop so its very convenient. I just got a water real quick. The employee working at the register was on their cell phone. I know some people will see this as horrible service and rude behavior but it really did not bother me. They were attentive and helpful. It was quick and easy, in and out, back on my way. I look forward to coming back!

This guy holds major grudges on children. Right when I walked in he kicked me out saying he was closed when he wasn't supposed to close in 3 hours. My friends and I eventually came back to ask why he had to lie to us. He said, "No children." and, "No walking around and around and around in my store, this is not Walmart." We convinced him that we wanted to buy something and he didn't allow us to use debit because our item wasn't above 3 dollars. My friend got a 6 pack of Oreos and there was only 4 Oreos inside. My friend claimed that it also tasted odd. Overall not a good experience and I would not recommend shopping at this store because of its poor food quality and service.

Told me I had to tie my Service dog outside, because he has a restaurant inside, and the health inspector would get on him. One asking me to do that broke Federal and State Law and maybe Municipal law. Two the Salt Lake City Health Officials are aware of the law and would not enforce the breaking of it. He was ignorant of the law, rude and would not listen when I tried to explain the laws!! Will never shop there, if you have a service dog avoid!!!

Be cautious of non chain stores, was charged twice for an item and bought a sandwich with no expiration label which turned out to be rotten and have mold on the underside of the bread. Store clerk was cursing about a previous customer so tried to be nice and keep low key. Just be aware, my own fault, safe journey to all.
