Marlin's | Family Restaurant

I have always loved going to Marlins! Good food and good staff. Sometimes the staff is a bit shorthanded but that can happen anywhere. Also, the cinnamon roll French toast is the best!

Very good diner built into a rest stop complex. We had a friendly server and our breakfast came out quick and delicious. Doesn't quite seem like from scratch down home cooking, but it's not bad.

For the most part I can't really complain. There has been several times when I was not impressed with their breakfast later at night but for the most part the meal's have been very good. The only other complaint I have is at times they seem to be under-staffed, which occasionally causes problems. In my humble opinion, that may be a management problem; not the staff.

I have eaten at Marlins many times. I normally go to Marlins in South Dakota. I went into this Marlins around 2 pm on a Wednesday and it was fairly crowded. One waitress was sitting down counting her tips like she was going home. I asked her if I could sit in the section that nobody was at and she said the other waitress would rather I not since she was waiting on everyone. I ended up sitting at the counter waiting on the other waitress. After I was given a menu and ice water she disappeared. The other waitress who I thought was going home after she counted her tips ended up sitting at end of counter. She started wrapping up silver wear in napkins while talking on her cell phone. She was complaining to the person she was talking to that she was the only waitress and hated bring the only waitress.I ended up getting up and leaving. I'm a truck driver and won't be back to this Marlins.

Staff is always friendly abd welcoming. Most food is deep fat fried. Baked potatoes after 4pm are good, as well as roast beef and beef tips.
