Reviews
I rarely write a review. My dad had been in VA Napa Unit for 9 months after his stroke. I must say after reading reviews that people do experience things differently and yes there were some things we had to fight for, but you have to do that in almost every aspect of life. The staff at Napa cared for my father. He passed away a few days before Xmas. We went to see him every week, as we did not live in the area. I have to say the staff was amazing, he had to have everything done for him. He was always clean, groomed, spoken to with kindness and humor (which he loved - he was a jokester). THANK you for the love and attention you showed my father.

I have always been treated with respect and treated like I am someone special! I can not find the words to describe the way I've been treated there on many, many, many occasions. I've had the experience of hearing some of the patients cussing the doctor and nursing staff. They are only human beings like you and I. I would resent being spoken to in that manner while trying to help someone who is just acting like a complete ASS.

A contact name and number was provided for the caregiver support with instructions to leave a voicemail but cannot because "the mailbox is full" and had been for more than a month now. The representative at the 800 number was not helpful either. There goes customer service....

Been with Martinez Va for 10 years now and we have a great team of Doctors. Our life in the beginning was overwhelming with appointments but it was necessary. We are now in a better place in Life, marriage and I can't thank our team at the Va enough...

Doctors here put false info into my record and switched X-rays to deny me expensive surgery and kept me catatonic to prevent me from receiving redress for my grievances for years. They put me on morphine, methadone and percocets to make me incompetent, catatonic and physically dependent. They use medication as a weapon to control veterans and inflict pain that is tatamount to torture. Doctors here are bottom of barrel, that need this job to stay employed, but to do so, they have to toe the line to behind-the-scenes administrators that never see nor speak to you, but who decide your care based on non-medical based criteria. You challenge them and request competent doctors or need based expensive surgical or medical procedures, they retaliate and harm you and create false documentation in your records (Doctors put false diagnosis to justify denying you proper medical care). They then call the physical dependency your fault and label you an addict in pursuit of drugs and deny you any reasonable request for competent medical care.
