Maskarade

This store was by far my favorite store we visited on our journey of New Orleans. My first stop in, I bought two masks. After walking around all morning we decided to walk back and buy a 3rd one! The quality is amazing, you can tell the artists put a lot of love into their craft. The employee was very kind, helpful, and full of knowledge of the store! After looking at all other masks in different stores, I am very thankful that I stumbled across this place first.

Cool little shop that sells an assortment of Mardi Gras masks in the French Quarter. Although pretty much every place in New Orleans sells Mardi Gras masks, this place sells both the cheapy, $5, made in China ones that you can get at CVS and Walgreens, but it also has an assortment of handmade masks that start in the $140+ range. My favorite masks were the ones that had beads or lace like a belly dancer veil that could cover a Covid mask. That's a unique feature that I haven't seen on other masks. This would be a good place to get a more elaborate mask if you had a specific costume that you were buying for, but be prepared to shell out some cash.

Great selection of masks. Also do shipping but we wanted back to Australia which we know all too well is very expensive. Highly recommend.

My favorite mask shop in New Orleans. This one is not a tourist trap. You can go in and just look around and the staff won’t bother you. When you ask for help when choosing a mask, they are very friendly and helpful though, for our masks the sales lady even got masks that weren’t on display. They let you try everything on and really try to get you a mask that fits you. The price ranges between $15 and over $200, depending on whether you want a hand made mask or not. Anyhow, I definitely recommend this place!

Unreal masks. Cool little shop with handmade goods. Be prepared to use your checkbook for those, they have less expensive ones if your looking for something short term.

You will not believe the amazing selection they have. They use over 40 different artists as providers. Make sure you ask the front desk for help! Best decision I made! I needed masks for a Magic show with the Alice in Wonderland theme. The lady in the front desk was fantastic helping me find whote rabbits and all kinds of fun masks that I will keep for a long time in my show!

This place is a marvel! The shop has tons of handmade, exquisite masks from artists all over. Definitely worth stopping by, even just to see the incredible designs and masks. I bought two handmade masks here, and the prices were fantastic! These masks are affordable, incredible art.

Couldn't have asked for a better experience than at this store! The masks are exquisite and unique, far different from the masks you see in every tourist shop. You can instantly tell these are amazing quality, and they're actually comfortable on your face! We wore this to a Halloween masquerade party where people from all over the world come and got endless compliments! Lisa was so helpful, and such a sweetheart. She was a key piece to making our overall NOLA experience unforgettable. Will definitely be going back the next time we are in town, even to just say hello!!
