Massimino's
"Massimino's is a local spot where you eat like you were back in Italy. A Mediterranean menu, that works withhold pressed olive oils, hand made pasta and the best cuts of meats. Our seafoods all hand selected. The wines that accompany our menu are amazing, working with smaller vineyards from italy. Come and enjoy what the North End is really like. Buon Appetito."

This has to be top 3 of the best Italian restaurants I've ever been to. and coming from NY, that says alot! The service was amazing! Special shout out to Sebastian who made the experience a 10/10 and compliments to the chef! Absolute MUST if you're in Boston.
Absolutely fantastic all-round experience at this restaurant. High-end , delicious Italian food for a decent price. Appetizers were great and the food came out relatively quick. Was with a large group who ordered everything from veal to ravioli to chicken Marsala and everyone was amazed. Definitely a must try if you are in Boston. The staff, waiters, and service were so kind and welcoming. probably the best hospitality I’ve received at any restaurant ever. Genuine nice kind people who are more than happy to talk with you. They’ve got a few lifelong customers after tonight!
After reading some of the great reviews we decided to give Massimino’s a try. It did not disappoint. My 10 year old decided to go out of her comfort zone with the Chicken and Sausage with red peppers. She absolutely loved it. My middle son, the pasta eater in the family, was absolutely in heaven with his chicken and broccoli alfredo. For starters we ordered antipasto and mixed greens that came on a charcuterie board as well as a meatball the meatball is from another planet. It was soooo good…in fact we ordered an additional one to go. I had the lasagna and my oldest had ravioli with mixed vegetables. The service was prompt and our server was super nice as well as the owner/manager who checked in on us. The space was intimate and patio seating is available in good weather. I have not had Italian food as good as Massimino’s. The last great Italian we had was in New York City and Massimino’s beats that hands down. Not even close. At $20-30 a plate you get SOOOO much food that you can have two meals. We had our leftovers for dinner! You will not be disappointed! You will be glad you went.
Lovely decor. Extraordinary friendly and helpful waiters. Solid food. Ordered stuffed clams and eggplant appetizers. Gnocchi and Ravioli main dishes. All was good quality and served fast. It helped that we were there in off peak hours.
If you want delicious, filling, quality, authentic Italian food Boston, then this is the place to go. Located in the North End area of Boston, there are many Italian places to choose from but this is a gem that not many people know of. It’s a small place but that’s what gives it the charm. You’re talking with the tables next to you, the waiters are joking to you and about themselves and even throwing some jokes at you. The owners are out front beckoning in customers with a warm smile, a hand shake, and even a hug if they are familiar. The owners check on every table multiple times, but not in an annoying way, but because they really care want want to know if anything is wrong. The waiters are loud and funny, cracking jokes at every chance they can. The atmosphere here is like a small town neighborhood spot where everyone gets along and there are no strangers. Now the food. First off, the bread and olive oil is so tasty. The bread is warm and the oil is seasoned to perfection. You could drink a bottle of it. For an appetizer, you must get the meatball. It’s about the size of a softball and smothered in red saucegravy. There is a side of burratta cheese as well that just oozes as it heats up. This meatball is about the most tender and juiciest piece of meat I’ve ever tasted. For dinner, they always have special and, being in Boston, you can’t go wrong with the fresh seafood options. I went with the gnocchi baked with red sauce and covered with mozzarella. The gnocchi melts in your mouth and is busting with flavor from the sauce. My wife got a special, Tagliatelle pasta with special bolognese sauce and finished with a balsamic glaze. The meat in the sauce just falls apart in your mouth. This is a unique Italian restaurant that rivals any of the high end Italian places. The atmosphere here alone is special and makes you feel welcomed. The food makes me want to hop on a plane and fly back to Boston just for one meal.
My group was standing on the sidewalk trying to decide where to eat lunch when a local Bostonian came up and started chatting with us. He wanted to know if we were lost, or trying to get lost! Lol. When we told him we were trying to find a place for lunch, he was super helpful and pointed us towards Massimino's. His recommendation did not disappoint! All five in our party truly enjoyed our meal. We also all tasted each other's food and everyone loved everything! Our waiter was really friendly and made our experience even better!
Ask for Jack. He’s the best. I had the sausage peppers and chops. Blew me away. If you want authentic Italian. This is the place! We sat out in the street. And don’t forget to get Nonna’s Meatball for an app.
Very picky about my red sauce, since I grew up with a family recipe and make my own. This has to be the best one I've ever had at a restaurant. The lobster ravioli was to die for. I think that's in my top 3 best meals. 10/10 highly recommend you stop here and try it.
Got a takeout of the pesto linguine, carbonara spaghetti, chicken parm, and some white clams. The textures of all the pasta were great, but overall, it wasn’t a satisfying experience. The portions of the clams were ridiculously small for the price, and compared to carbonara pasta I had at other places in North End, this didn’t feel like an authentic Italian and was below average. Chicken parm was also unremarkable, and the penne was slightly undercooked. If all the other places around are busy and you have no other options, this would be a solid choice. However, with myriad of other amazing options around, this place shouldn’t be on your top list for a North End visit.
The food here is exquisite. My wife and I shared the delicious fried burrata appetizer. My spouse had an amazing swordfish scampi special, and I enjoyed my tasty chicken, broccoli, shrimp over ziti. Our drinks were superb, and our server Brenton was extraordinary. Portions were large; food quality was superb and the prices were fair. We both loved our meals and the experience and look forward to coming back again soon!
