Maxcare Hardwood Flooring

In 2019, Maxcare did an amazing job converting my pine floor to a beautiful cherry red floor with the help of Steinkellner's. What they didn't do is patch the subfloor when doing hardwood repairs to an area of the floor that had two holes in the floor from a pipe that previously extended from the basement into a previous kitchen wall. The pipes and kitchen wall were demolished prior to Maxcare coming to refinish and repair the floor so there were holes about the 6 to 8 inches in diameter that were in the floor. We spent $1300 for the floor repair and their employee who did the repair work took a hasty shortcut in order to finish the job by not replacing the subfloor or at the very least notifying us that the subfloor would need to be fixed prior to the hardwood floor on top being installed. The result is now in 2021 the hardwood floor in that area is bowing and will eventually break because Maxcare neglected to do the repair right the first time. When another contractor notified me of this issue in my floor, I promptly brought up the issue with Maxcare. Rather than admit their oversight and fix the subfloor, one of their employees cited their seven day policy on the job and refused to do anything. A professional flooring company should know that it's improper to install a hardwood floor over subfloor that doesn't exist. I'm disappointed and have filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau and the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection to attempt to receive a proper resolution to come back out and fix the subfloor, repair or replace / restain any pine hardwood flooring that was damaged due to the absence of subfloor, and do what any professional contracting company that does this work day in and day out would do: admit their oversight and remediate the problem for the customer .Service: Wood staining

Performed some parts of the project well however after the in home consultation they wrote up the quote that I assumed was correct since we have walked through exactly how the project was to be done. There were terms used in the contract that are not typically known to those not in the industry. I came home to my beautiful staircase sanded & stain removedwas NOT part of the project. Owner refused to restore it at even a slight discount. Disappointed. As my sister would say… the before photo looks like the after SHOULD look.

Outstanding. If only every company offered the level of service provided by Maxcare. After a prompt and reasonable quote for a partial hardwood floor install followed by sanding and staining of existing and new, the detail of what we could expect to happen on what day was thoroughly explained and rigidly stuck to. I even requested extra work be done once the job had started and the friendly office staff and extremely competent flooring guys were able to incorporate it into the existing job without delaying the project at very reasonable cost. The floors look incredible. I'm very, very happy with the work done and would highly recommend Maxcare Hardwood Flooring for your next project. MaxCare brought the nearly century old maple floors in our "new" house back to life. They were phenomenal to work with on all ends- quotes, scheduling, and of course the actual work. We'd use them again in a heartbeat.

MaxCare did a great job. This was the second time we had them out to the house to sand and refinish a bedroom. they did such a great job on the first bedroom we had to have them out again! The estimates were fair as we had a smaller job for them to complete. The technicians that came out were very professional and remembered me from the first job. Great customer relationship when they remember you. the office staff were great with being flexible to schedule and then reschedule my appointment. I have and will continue to recommend MaxCare to anyone looking to have hardwood floors sanded and refinished. Looking forward to working with them again in the future.

We were very pleased with the sanding, staining, & refinishing job that Maxcare did on our wooden floors. They did an excellent job and were very professional. We had a living room, dining room, 3 bedrooms, and a hallway done and the floors looked great after they were done.Service: Wood staining
